    That's what I had been using. After my road trip I went back to the trd tune. Not sure if it was the tune causing problems but I'm back to basics.

    No. Wasn't sure. But I'm simplifying things to figure it out. Power loss, then overly rich conditions when passing. Must have put it in limp mode. Dont know why.

    Thx "Login failed" & "Doc Me" Thx for that info...it breaks right where the arm attaches to the "housing" so I was thinking the same thing. It's my everyday vehicle so I already bought another Gates brand & it's going on tomorrow, I HV a feeling it'll happen again & at that time I will look into your brands of tensioners.
    It sucks when it breaks I feel like a normal citizen

    That is a pretty big difference. Might be worth a change out from OEM when I have $134 laying around.

    And there are plenty more 4.0's that will remain on the road long after the 3.5's have been totaled due to failing CKP sensors failing, which causes them to get rear ended due to the fact that it suddenly died while the engine was running, which causes them to call insurance, which causes insurance to review the truck, which causes them to observe the bent frame on the rear, which causes insurance to total the piece of junk, because at the end of the day it is junk anyways. :D

    Someone that bought it for looks with intentions of putting a turbo LS in it? That would be my excuse for one.

    Personal opinion, which isn't worth much, but I don't like the look of the 3rd gens. The headlights are too narrow, I don't like the stamped tailgate, or the grill.

    I hated them at first but they did actually grow on me.....the look. I’m not a fan of the motor so far...

    I drove my dust covered car onto my ramp setup. Plan is to spend the whole day tomorrow lifting the engine and installing the headers. (Hopefully successfully)

    It will most likely break again. If you tempt fate long enough you will also manage to damage something else and not just the belt and tensioner, be it wiring to the nearby sensor that is close to the belt or even the fan clutch fins.

    Run yourself a beef tensioner. It is worth the trouble. Me running it on my daily has not given me a single hiccup up to this point, but I chose to run a Thump billet unit, not a Roush.

    It is entirely worth the the cash. Buy once, cry once.

    By the way I love your avatar. I want to pet that dog so bad. All the pettings for the good boy. (or girl!)
