    Hey guys, my warranty is finally up and I'm looking to change the pulley on my TRD supercharger from stock to the 2.85 pulley. Are there any other tuning options becides the UCONN and OVtune? I've heard bullydog was making something but I can't find it on their website. Also are there any necessary supporting mods to go with the pulley change? Not looking to go overboard as this truck is my daily and I'm currently running the TRD tune.

    Multiple up and coming tuning options discussed on the last few pages. Honestly though, you don’t even need a tune for the 2.85.

    Is it necessary to run a different tune when changing pulley size? Once you start getting really small, I could see how but wouldn’t think it’s required for a 2.85...

    I’m not sure what mine has, but PO stated that he had a smaller pulley installed, and it still has the TRD tune. Making 7lbs of boost with stock intake and exhaust. Still runs rich as the TRD tunes have been known to do so I don’t think I’ve had anything to worry about?

    ......you sounded just like me when I got mine. The 2.825 doesn’t need anything but there are other things that you would benefit from. CAI, exhaust etc....and screw bullydog , you don’t want that.

    Thanks for the replies guys, sorry I forgot to mention that I have the TRD exhaust and the AFE CAI. I mean I knew the TRD tune was rich, but it's so rich that even with a pulley size change there's no need for a tune? I'm a little hesitant about that, i've never messed with boost before so this is new to me. I mean if the 2.85 pulley isn't even putting enough air into the motor that it requires a tune is it even worth getting? Does anyone have any dyno runs with that size pulley? or know what the actual gains are versus the claimed gains?

    the 2.825 is worth it if you just want a little more....the s/c should’ve come with that size to begin with. It’s what I have now. The TRD tune is indeed rich, part of the problem is you have the TRD exhaust which is only 2.5”. You’d be much better off with a 3” cat back and a y-pipe to help the motor breath. You’d also eliminate the rear cats in the process.

    I was tempted to go with a 3” single and a Y on my car for less weight but two things stopped me. Dual exhaust cutouts in my bumper and was told my V8 would sound better with duals and an X. So I went 2.5 duals. We all know the better it sounds the faster it is.

    I agree the blower shoulda come with a smaller pulley, but exhaust changing the afr?

    Boost psi is a measurment of restriction isnt it?

    Perhaps, that’s something someone smarter than I can expel on. I can tell ya mine runs better with my setup than before and my afr’s are at 14.7 at idle

    I think TRD learned their lesson from the UZ motors. Doubt they would have gone too crazy with the pulleys. Super restrictive stock exhaust manifolds and a 2.2 pulley. A small bump in power is all they advertise for you guys whereas with the 2UZ blower I think they advertised something crazy like an additional 120 hp.

    They should be 14.7-14.9 regardless of exhaust until the truck sees load.

    For me, oem manifolds, shorties, long tubes... All same afr, they are pre wraf sensor.
    The truck def hauls better when the exhaust is open.

    I'm running a 2.5 on the trd tune. 30 mph rolling tire burn on bone dry pavement with new 275's. Afr's were happy still.
