JCA's DCLB "Not really a" Build Thread

Hey everyone,

After years of mostly lurking, I've gotten around to buying my first truck. Using this to document what I do with it.

2012 SR5 DCLB, Super White, 4WD with tow package. Purchased March 09, 2017, with 49K miles.

How it looked when I bought it. It came with a spacer lift and a single AAL installed:



Removed the 33's and swapped them with 265/75/16 K02's



My most practical mod (Scangauge II):



Full tune up at 50K Miles. I know it's not a mod:



Changed the leafs that it came with and swapped it with newer TSB's and a progressive AAL. The older leafs looked done and the Driver side had a cracked AAL.



As it sits right now with the Progressive AAL and 2 inch preload spacers.



I'm currently not experiencing problems with this set up, and I love the slight rake. I want this truck to be functional for what I do, since I visit project sites for work and make use of the truck bed every so often. Down the line, I will upgrade to better shocks, and possibly UCA's, but so far, no complaints, as I don't really wheel much.

Window Tint! 18% all around, minus the windshield. Brought the VLT in the rear down to approximately 4%. Extremely happy with the outcome.



Also, I meant to post this earlier, but I got the Hayden 677 transmission cooler installed.

 

Rolled some bedliner on the faded nerfbars!

 

Bakflip G2 installed. found it locally for under $500.

 

Back on 285s!

How much lift, and are you rubbing with your front mudflaps?

 

First lift was a 2 or 3 inch spacer lift and AAL on TSB leaf springs and stock front shocks. Got rear ended, got a new frame, and had the body shop drop in 5100s with 885s, and SPC UCAs. Still kept the TSB leaf packs with progressive AAL. I'm guessing 2.5 to 3 inches of lift right now.

The truck came with 285/75/16 Open Country AT2s, but I had new 265/75/16 K02s and swapped with those. I did not rub on that setup at all.

I did have to trim a little bit more off the mudflaps this time around with the 285 K02s. Happy with them so far.

PS: your post count in relation to your join date is legendary.

 

Thanks for explaining brother. My current tires are 265/75/16 KO2's, but I want 285's with mudflaps.

 

Felt cute and took a light trail while in Nevada, USA. May go back to Kalifornia, maybe not.
