Falken Wildpeak MT thread (with review?)

I'm not looking to spend any more right now, especially on tires again.. just bummed they wear so fast. I mean we use em... more than their standard customer I would say.. so I cant really complain too much I guess.

 

Oh yeah. I roast them regularly. Can you imagine if i was boosted, headers, small pulley, etc like you?

 

see.. and thats why they dont last and I cant be mad.. lol

 

Reach out to them man. Their email is on the website. Sent an email Saturday and they responded by Monday. Stopped by discount for my warranty inspection. Discount called falken and falken gave me a credit of remaining tread life to apply to something else. So for my case since I was at 15/32 they gave me 70% off what I paid to apply to another tire. I stuck with the same thing but went up a size. So now a 295 70 17. You may want to try as well.

 

I will say another thing I'm impressed with is the mileage expectancy I was getting. 13k miles and only used 25% life... means I would have got close to 52k miles which ain't bad out of a mud tire

 

I don’t have a discount tire within 500 miles of me so i doubt i could get anything for my chunking

 

UPDATE, snow performance, absolutely phenominal. They just dig like paddles and never ever give up. Busted some two foot drifts with them and have had them in 12-15” already. They understeer a little but everything does that in the snow. I’m stoked with how well they perform in the snow.

 

What psi are you guys running for on road and off road? I'm running the same tire and haven't got a clue. Running it at 50 psi for daily at the moment. Still haven't tried them off road.

 

@AR15xAR10 Just came across your thread, definitely staying tuned. Picked up a set of 315/75/16's and looking forward to seeing how they perform.

@taco_boy I have them at 35 up front and 33 in the rear for now since its been constantly raining in my area to run the chalk test.

 

I tried them at max (80 psi) and they feel like they can break boulders or my ball joints. Lol. Tried the chalk test and the lugs are too damn big. Haha. I'll try 35 for a week and see how they wear down.

Tried them at 22-25 offroad the last time i went and it didn’t do anything but make it handle like shit when i got back on pavement lol.

I think i needed to go lower but was afraid to with only a cheap 12v compressor with me

 

I’ve had mine for about 12k miles, run mid 30s on road (usually 2 psi difference front to rear) and low 20s off road. Great in most conditions, had trouble shedding clay based mud but that’s the same for every tire I’ve tried. Overall, I’ve been very happy and would guess I’m about halfway through their life for me (my dad would drive them for another 50k, “frugal”)

 

These things did take an alarming amount of weight to balance....but they roll true down the highway....

 

Yeah mine did too. They are just a real heavy tire so it takes alot to counter any flaws. Also has a little to do with what wheels you got.

 

Subbed. Thinking of buying in 315/75-16, because they are only $230 ea free shipping. The chunking is concerning tho.

 

Did you mount them? What do you think? I'm thinking of buying the same size

 

@Boston10Taco yea about 3k on them by now. Just got back from a wheeling trip with some buddies in Tennessee, they handled everything we threw at em. Ran them at 20 PSI on the trail, but quickly realized I needed drop it down some. Not a whole lot of slipping, crawled through rocks and obstacles at 15 PSI. Hope this helps, caution they are heavy so be prepared for some loss of MPGS, and your oem spare location will be useless with this size.
