That looks good! How do you like the RCI rack? I just ordered mine last weekend.

I absolutely love it for the purpose of an RTT. The mid level rack will definitely be in your rear view, but you can still see a decent amount out of your rear window. They rack was missing some of the mounting bolts, but since I intended to replace them with stainless anyway it did not matter. The quality is outstanding and looks amazing (in my opinion).

Good to know. It’ll be awhile before I have the money to get an RTT, but in the meantime I’ll just use it for some tools and TREDS. Are you able to get it in a garage with the tent on? From the measurements I have, it will work, but I’ll be limited to an inch or two of lift. Thanks for the info.

Yes, it fits in the garage (and mine is the smallest garage out there). I put the RTT on a hoist in the garage when not in use and leaves me about 3 inches above the GPS antenna when I am under the RTT. IMG-0052.jpg

What happens if you need to jack the truck up? Is that enough room, just curious

Nice! That’s pretty much what I’m looking to do. I started looking at hoist systems on Amazon. I’d like to be able to hoist the entire bed rack and everything, so I can put my tonneau on when not in use.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I did just that with a couple setups I have. I used an electric hoist from Harbor Freight. Attached to the corners of the rack, and up it goes until needed.

Cool! There’s a harbor freight down the road. I’ll be looking into that. Thanks

If you do, make sure you google Harbor Freight Coupon. You can easily find them on their website. 10-20% all the time

Now I have the smaller tent version and it does not stick out over the cab when hoisted so I can jack it up just like normal.

Yes, I looked at the complete hoist systems on Amazon, but the reviews scared me away. The way I built mine the eye bolts go all the way through the attic beams (I also have 4 safety eye lags). I used the Harbor Freight electric hoist that the guys are talking about above
. Works great since I have to mount it by myself and makes it easy to line the bolts up.

Newish to this whole TW. Came from diesels for the past 10 years. My first Tacoma. Very northwest corner of ga. But here’s mine to add to the white Tacoma takeover. Lol361D83BB-11EE-491A-BAE6-587F637226CC.jpg2BC5351B-376B-4B65-B495-1B3A2DF4E387.jpg

Appreciate it. Definitely was a love hate relationship to start with but it’s definitely growing on me. Just got my bedrack for the rtt from avid off-road. Getting them primed and painted this evening. Hopefully will have some new pics of her tomorrow.

Hells yeah, looking sweet. I posted this truck awhile ago, when I found it on CL. Some nice goodies on a clean truck, hard to beat right there.

I completely understand. My wife has a 4runner too. Compared to my 2nd gen tacoma, the 4runner just seems to be built so much better from a quality stand point (just my opinion).
