Oof, the wagon? Next thing y'all gonna be wearing crocs and your pj's to the supermarket. Wagon's are a gateway.

Well, the wagon we have (outback), may be a gateway, but I'll at least enjoy driving to that gateway.

We had it for 10yrs and Crocs started being a thing during that time. It was traded for our first ever AWD vehicle and our first CUV. It wasn't a big fan, but it was her choice.

I still have the Crocs. :D

I have zero dress code, but if I wore my pjs anywhere, I would definitely get arrested. And, maybe a date?

It's not funny anymore how often those two things go together.

@mgmdclb, Today, no, I'm ok with the AT. When my son starts driving in 4 years, if I don't have a MT something, I'll feel like a failure as a father to get my son his appropriate punches on his man card.

No if I told a dealership exactly what I wanted, and then had to ask them to look around for one because they said they didnt have one on the lot, i'd stop allowing them to waste my time. If a dealership wants your business, their response won't be "oh darn we dont have one, how about this one..." They'd check all the dealers they have a relationship with in the area and try to get it for you.

These guys sound like the jackasses at my local dealership who want nothing but to sell the cars on their lot. When buying my truck I went in and told them I wanted a 4x4 DCSB sport or off-road MT in grey black or silver. First truck the asshole wanted to show me was a white 2.7 2wd AT SR5. After reiterating what I wanted, the next truck he showed me was a used Pro (also AT). Dont want to sell me what I'm looking for? OK, bye!

Went to the next dealership, told them the same thing. Guy came back, said sorry we dont have any on lot, but our buddies over at such and such have the exact truck and we can have it transferred here in about a week. I said great. Got a call the next day that my truck was ready and got a great deal on it too.

Don't reward shit service. Find someone who wants to earn your business instead of wasting your time.

Awful. Like 14-15 city, 16/17 highway.

I read somewhere that sixth gear in the MT is geared differently than the AT. I’ve seen videos of people driving AT at 60mph and their RPM is at about 1500 or less. I’m closer to 2k+ rpm in sixth.

yeah this is accurate for me as well. i can feather foot it and get maybe 18, up to 19 with a tailwind. that's not a joke, either.

the enjoyment & fulfillment i get from driving this truck is so great that i accept the mileage. because if i had 50mpg and a boring drive i'd be willing to deal with this, no doubt. so i'm fine with it for now.

Your mileage mirrors mine. The nice thing is that with the 4.3:1 diff, you don’t take as big of a hit when you lift and go with heavier tires. Mine was right around .5mpg when I did a 2”lift and went to E rates 265/75/16. The guys with Autos get hit a little harder.

You won't get peak MPGs going faster 65mph.

Agreed. Plus, under 65 on NTX highways (especially toll roads) is not a good day for most Texans :burnrubber:

Considering I usually cruise at 75-80 on the highway, I'm gonna fly though gas if I get a manual.

I had a similar experience. Dealer first threw out an offer on an AT Sport and OR (both of which I test drove), but eventually mentioned a fairly loaded OR with manual in Cement, which was pretty much exactly what I walked in telling him I wanted.

I didn't complain, I think I got a good deal. It took 30" to dig the car out and move it because of the heavy snow LOL, so maybe that's why he didn't offer it up front.

Not incredibly difficult to do in an AT either, especially with a pickup.

just for the record, i average about 17 highway at 80-90mph into and back from Dallas, about an hour each way. that's been consistent since the beginning. if i run harder (yes, i did just say that) then maybe 16 highway. but that would be illegal. and drugz are bad mmmkay.

More the former than the latter, I couldn't honestly say I've ever chirped into 2nd with an AT... but... then I don't think I've ever needed to either. Not denying anyone else their fun, but I actually like grip more than slip.
