very nice, clean looking. What is your finishing plan for them? I think a nice sealer on it would look great but that's just my opinion

Thank you. Already clear coated them ( installed couple weeks ago). The ol lady wants to stain darker but I like the raw wood look so we'll see :notsure:

Before, ,during, and after. Had a little kitchen shitter behind an accordion door in my kitchen with no sink. Tore out the wall, tore out the chimney, re routed some ductwork, built a chase, tore out a closet\cabinet to make a new entrance from the dining room and walled off the old entrance. Roughed in a sink. Now we officially have a half bath downstairs.

So short story but I helped a friend out moving a fridge. His old fridge the door wouldnt stay closed, so in moving this the old one has one screw missing off the door hinge and the other one is loose. I think to myself easy fix. But we were already in to moving the old one out and the "new to them" one in. So the new used one the handle was cracked and just broke off the top where it mounts to the fridge. I think to myself another easy fix. I tell the guy just get a piece of metal and two screw drill it and put the screws back in. I get a blank stare, I asked do you have a hand drill? He says he has one somewhere that takes AA batteries, and no drill bits...I was like o_Owhat? No electric drills, no screw drivers, nothing...wth? I dont have a lot of stuff Id like to but I have enough to get things done. I have screw drivers everywhere. I just find it odd for a guy in his 50s to not have a clue about tools or minor fixes...

I agree with you, the raw wood looks great. I am all for darker stains but only under the right circumstances. You did white tile backsplash with a white countertop. floating shelves are generally done so that it gives a more open and less intrusive feel on the eyes. Dark stain would make them stand out to much IMHO. Raw wood keeps with your theme and looks sharp

I thought of getting him a basic tool set, but after yesterday I dont think he'd know how to use them even if he had them...

Cleared some galvanized fencing off of a friend's property yesterday. Anybody scrap any metal lately? I'm not sure what to expect for payout, may not even be worth the effort

Youngest daughter earned her bedroom door back, so I put it back on the hinges. Being able to close her door is a HUGE home improvement lol. Backstory... I run a "slam your door - lose your door" policy in the house. She decided to test said policy.

His name wouldn’t be Chuck? My old neighbor was the same way. Asked me all the time to help him fix things because he didn’t have any tools. The best was when he had a brake light out and asked me if that was something I know how to fix.

Lol. I lost my bedroom door in 8th grade for doing bad things. Didn’t get it back till I was a senior in high-school.
