If I add some rear axle shims to get rid of minor vibrations after getting a lift, should I get an alignment done again?

As far as I know alignment is done in the front and not the rear, so no. Someone with more experience hopefully chimes in to correct me if I’m wrong.

That was my understanding as well but the shop that was going to install them had that on the list of charges and I was confused.

There is no way to align the rear aside from loosening the U bolts and moving the axle around a little by hand.

SPC makes a thrust alignment plate. I wouldn't use it with shims...

While they can't adjust the rear if your shims change the ride height at all in the rear than it will change caster in the front. The alignment should be at least checked. It won't impact camber or toe directly, but if they have to adjust caster, camber will change and so will toe. It is one of those things that wouldn't hurt.

I agree. If no adjustments are required at least you have peace of mind. Tires aren't cheap, best to check it and not need it then to need it and not have it.
