6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
Then why waste the time pulling somebody over and writing the ticket?
Or is he just keeping people safe from window tint or expired stickers, that expired sticker on my trailer might kill me in my sleep. I’m thankful there is a revenue generator sitting in a Dodge Charger to extort money out of me for it.

You mean legal? Regardless, the problem is that after the law change some people who already had a vehicle can't be expected to fork out the money. Again with the judge told my uncle was that it would be almost considered discrimination because poor people couldn't afford to remove it essentially.

now if you happen to live in some dumb state that doesn't give a crap, I'm not sure, but if the vehicle came that way then it should be legal. I should not have to worry the legality of tint. when I'm buying a vehicle

I'm pretty sure these types of things are why they just dismiss it typically. But I mean again I'm talking about factory tint.

I assume op is talking about the rears. Which are darker.

But either way, yeah welcome to reality, a lawyer would have a field day of they tried to push this.
the reason they dismiss it is because they would get sued because someone would say they were discriminating against poor people. if you buy a vehicle and it comes with tint by default that's too dark, that's not your fault, the dealership that sold it to you should have removed it if it was too dark to be legal. Essentially it turns into "you're in trouble because you're poor at no choice of your own" and that's basically what the judge told my uncle.

They don't want to deal with that kind of nightmare or press.

No, you said if it was that way when they bought it then they’re not responsible. I said if it is illegal or not compliant when you buy something then it’s your responsibility to make it compliant.

I think you're good in any state, as long as your living in one of those 4 states.

I don’t see where it says 12% on the window sticker. Most, but not all states don’t allow less than 35% on front windows.

I think laws don't apply to you if you're a visitor from another state where it's legal.

I subscribe to personal responsibility instead of passing the buck. The rears can be pitch black. The issue are the fronts which are tinted.

Your correct, in most cases they don’t. I live in Illinois which has the 35% front windows law and Missouri is as dark as you want. I don’t know of anyone who has been pulled over for window tint in my area. Also I think a persons attitude has a lot to do with it when they get pulled over.

Bullshit. Where am I supposed to obtain a front license plate if my state doesn't provide one? Write it on a piece of paper?

If I drive my vehicle across country, and through a state that has annual inspections, am I supposed to rework my entire vehicle and take the vehicle in for inspections so I can spend 2 hrs there. Hell no.

Unenforceable. The condition of your vehicle meets the regulations of where it is registered. Plain and simple

That's a joke right? So you can carry guns or smoke weed wherever you want if you're from another state where it's legal? Uhhhh no.

I don’t think he was referring to all laws, I think he was referring to laws like window tint and the license plate law, where some states require them and some don’t.

Agreed. I believe this is the crux of OP's concern. The vehicle was purchased in one state, registered in another state, and simply passing through Georgia en route to the state of registration. it is ridiculous to be penalized for what is basically an ordinance and not a moving violation that put others at risk. This was a revenue ticket pure & simple. But be advised, OP, the Supreme Court has ruled that police officers do not have to know the laws they enforce:
    https://www.mintpressnews.com/court-rules-police-dont-need-know-laws-enforce/217236/

    SCOTUS Ruling:
    https://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/heien-v-north-carolina/

While ignorance of the law cannot be used in court as a defense for us regular schmucks, LE can and do use it as a defense. Before the Thin Blue Liners jump all over me, I'm not saying ALL LE use this as a defense, but SOME do.

I also don’t believe that factory embedded tint is UV rated. Your windows even if appearing as a 20-30 tint do not protect from uv rays or heat. Someone will certainly correct me with curse words and unicorns gifs blowing smoke out its ars if I’m wrong.

You cannot be serious, everybody knows how it works. My else would they write more tickets at the end of the month vs any other time?
This has nothing to do with personal responsibility... If I go and buy a vehicle from a dealership that I truthfully believe to be a good faith legal place of business, then it's completely within reason to expect that whatever I buy is legal for the state or area that the business is in. Can you imagine the lawsuits if this was not the case? It would be insane...

Even if it is the front tint, if the vehicle was sold that way by a dealership in the same state that it is illegal in, then I would hold the dealership at fault for selling an individual something that was not in legal compliance for the state it was sold in. It's not reasonable for every single person to be carrying around tint meters before they buy a car, then you have to make sure it was a calibrated, was it done in front of a witness, I mean it would just get insane. So no...

I get if you're buying from an individual, but if you're buying from a professional place of business that should not be something anyone has to worry about.

But to go even further... Op states that he does not live in Georgia... Therefore the law should not apply. That starts getting into that whole territory about which state is right or wrong legally. Is one state calling another a lawbreaker. Etc.

Anyway, I digress. I'm ninety-nine percent sure op can have it dismissed. If Georgia really wants to press the charge then they need to reimburse him and anyone else to remove tint that they did not choose to install on their own.
