Sometimes I think Lightbars should be outlawed.

It’s just the new big dick idea. All those light bars and a single BD s8 probably throws better light. Look at Baja trucks. They go 100+ at night in desert hitting holes the size of civics. They have fewer lights than you think. People wheeling during the day with front lights are just doing it cause “ig influencers” turn them on to show their sponsors.

    Auxiliary driving lamps
    4.09

One pair is allowed but they have to be between 40cm and 1.06m high. Plus they have to meet an aiming requirement and be on the highbeam circuit. Otherwise they are off-road lamps.

    Off-road lamps
4.25 Despite section 4.04 (2) (c), a vehicle equipped with off-road lamps when on a highway must have the off-road lamps concealed with opaque covers.

RCMP like to give tickets for lightbars, you see a lot of Alberta cardboard beer case covers being built on the side of the road under the watchful eye of an officer..

Much appreciated, and good to know. I mean it's Canada, right, RCMP are probably all on horseback. I think I have a good chance of getting away in a chase.

not really. they pack syringes of maple syrup for their horses that gives them an extra boost when needed. it's like a twin charger in sugar form.

Couldn’t agree more about the huge wheel offsets. Literally screams “I’m a selfish tool of a douche little boy trapped inside the poor vessel of a man”...and I don’t care about people behind me or my paint

You don’t have to worry, I know no one who has got a ticket ever. If you use them properly nothing to worry about

It kills me when people do this. An #expoaf 4runner the other day at dusk was haulin ass behind me with his ditch light on, his roofrack light bar on and his grill light bar on. It was like the fucking sun coming up behind me.

I dunno. If the left lane campers arnt noticing my headlights flashing, they aren't gonna notice a light bar.

But you do have a good point.

You're supposed to flash your lights to get them to move?

I don’t care what you said.

San Diego does indeed have the best tacos. Of all time, in all the land. Ever.

Kinda like outlawing guns to stop armed homicides and robberies. (Both the firearm and the lightbar are innocent, BTW, it's an operator issue.)

Well, a WAG would be to make more light? I will say this. They aren't nearly as functional as most users think they will be.

do they actually enforce it? cause I heard it was the same here also but I never hear of anyone getting tickets for uncovered light bars.

I've got warnings on my 86 for having lights uncovered, have seen people getting tickets at CSVE checkstops and having to make covers, and have heard of our Albertan friends getting tickets on the Trans-Canada going through Golden. I've also seen a whole stage of WCRA cars get warnings on the Yellowhead for having rally lights uncovered during a transit stage..

But I agree for every truck covered there are three driving around with them open..

    That's easy to explain.

That person is a superficial attention whore. Hate those types and i will never give them the time of day. They won't even receive negative attention.

Light bars are the ugliest trend. I can't stand them. I understand they have a purpose, but if most are honest with themselves, they use it to look cool. Problem is, they don't look cool.

Those shitty low cost LED lightbars that glare the light everywhere are another hillbilly upgrade, just like wheel spacers and taking off mudflaps.
