Even here in Colorado, you can find brand new Pros for around 46-50k. When I was looking, I was able to haggle down to 44k for a brand new 2018 Pro just to see if I could do it. My budget was 38k so I wasn't ever going to get one. If you're in the market, it's always good to take your time and practice haggling whenever you can.

Regarding buying experience, what's the difference between buying a Pro vs. buying an OR? Like you aren't able to haggle?

A few weeks back there was a 2019 black pro with the desert air intake up the road for me at Westminster Toyota for $5,000 off, which put it at MSRP.

For what its worth, I was able to negotiate to invoice for a 2020 TRD Pro, locally! I was willing to travel for the right deal too. Obviously, I've got to wait for my dealer allocation, but based on what I've researched I'm pretty happy with that pricing. I'm hoping I've got it by Sept-Oct, but that may be a stretch

Yup, exactly, unknown as of right now. Invoice for no options and automatic in 2019 is ~$42,300 and I'm ballparking about a 5% increase year over year. The jump from 2016 to 2018 pricing was negligible, but 2018 to 2019 saw ~5% jump. My guess is that Toyota will do another 5% jump with the refresh. So as of right now I'm guessing invoice would be around $44k + TTL, which would get me around $48K OTD.

We got it down in writing that I will pay invoice on a 2020 TRD Pro, caveat being we have no idea what invoice pricing is until pricing for 2020 is released. I had about 5-10 dealers in my area negotiating based off of MSRP or invoice. We started at MSRP, then $500 off, $1000 off, until I got it in writing that a dealer would do invoice pricing for a 2020 TRD Pro. I just put them up against each other, showing them the others quoted price. Again, not knowing what the actual price will be.

Which dealer here in town was willing to hook you up with invoice pricing?

I think that is great and I hope they honor what you have agreed too.

Im not in WA anymore, we moved to OH a year ago. I can’t imagine anyone in the PNW selling below MSRP on a Pro, just knowing the market for Tacoma’s and 4Runners out there, but with enough effort you can definitely get a deal. Might even be worth traveling/shipping if need be.

Honestly, I just emailed about 25 dealers in OH then waited on the ones who would negotiate on price without knowing the actual amount, then saying “x dealer has agreed to this (screenshot of offer)” and see what they say. Eventually I had 4 dealers against each other. Around 10 said Pros only go for MSRP, and another 10 just flat out didn’t respond.

Invoice pricing is whatever the dealer happens to pull that day. Also depends if this is SE or Gulf Toyota which add their own pricing as well which makes msrp in those areas questionable. But even at msrp or slightly under I think would be a good price considering 2020 will add in some things not seen in all previous tacos including.... Power adjustable seats (really don't have issue with mine but then again, still head scratching why this isn't a standard feature even manual ones in tho day and age).
