It really boils down to how anal you are about it looking clean, and how much you like detailing. Black doesn't look bad when it's dirty, it just looks dirty.

I had 2004 Tacoma DC in Black and loved it till I wheeled it a few times and the trail pinstripes show up... at 300k miles it still looked decent as I waxed it every year to avoid the trail stripes but when I traded up last year to a 2018 I went SuperWhite and have really enjoyed it so far. Good luck!

This. I get pissed off that it looks filthy in like 30 minutes out west here, but when I wash and detail it, it makes it all worth it.

I washed this truck more times in the 11 months I've had it than the total of all other vehicles I've owned. And I'd do black again in a heartbeat.

Just wish that I'd figure out earlier that I was washing it wrong (swirls...from a brush ). but I threw a lot of money at chemicalguys.com (great yt videos) and am no longer harming paint.

    Black is Beautiful!

OMG, dude, I washed and did more detailing this morning. My truck is already YELLOW with pollen. It's disgusting. I was eating lunch in a parking lot and I saw actual sheets of pollen (like a snow storm). lol

I'm in Vegas with a Black Tacoma... It gets hot up in this joint. Would I do it again... probably.

Hard to keep clean, shows a lot of marks, but my tinted windows help with the heat.

I have a black 17' with black interior, and it shows EVERYTHING. I should have found a white or cement one. :facepalm:I say if you get a good deal on it go for it.

Nah....MGM is like luke-warm black. Same problems without the mojo. Go for a lighter colour if you like a clean truck but don’t want endless detailing.

Yeah I don't know if the insulation in the 3rd gens is just really good, or what, but mine doesn't get very hot in the summer. And summers in inland San Diego get hot as shit.

I second this statement. I have MGM and it's a bitch to keep looking nice. However, I still love my MGM and would buy it again.

100% agree. I've washed before going up the mountain just to admire the cool patina & splatters that result when I get back home. :)
