I just replaced my lower ball joints with Moog problem solvers. When I went took it to a shop to get an alignment they greased them and ended up breaking the zerk fitting leaving the hole exposed. I am leaving on a trip tomorrow down to the DBBB. What can I do to help prevent junk from getting into it. I know the right fix is to take the broken part out but I leave in the morning and I am at work right now leaving no time to fix it right now. Just need a quick fix for the weekend. Thanks.

Why didnt the “shop” fix the fitting before you picked it up? If you are going to worry stick a small screw in the broken zerk fitting.

They said that it would be 80 to fix it. So lesson learned.

Why do you have to pay $80 if they broke the fitting?

They said that I had paced the zerk fitting in a "bad position" and that once the grease gun was on there they couldn't get it off so they apparently wiggled it until it just broke. And the position that that I placed it was facing the rear of the truck so that it wouldn't get snagged on anything while wheeling.

Clean it well with solvent and when dry put a piece of electrical tape over it for the time being. Then you can fix it when you have time. I would think they should have fixed it at the time.

Correct seeing how i replaced both lower ball joint, both hub assembly, and both tie rod ends. And they fuck up greasing a zerk fitting. SMH.

See how I spun the zerk fitting for ease of greasing lol.
