So I may have missed it, but I finally got around to downloading and installing the flash manager software and ran into an interesting little glitch. I figured mentioning it here might help somebody else if they run into the same problem. It may have already been discussed, but I confess that I have not ready every one of the 2233 pages in the thread.

When it is on my desk, my laptop is plugged into a port replicator and connected to two monitors and an external keyboard. The laptop is closed once I power it on. So when I finished downloading the flash manager application software from OVTUNE, I clicked "run" and the program initiation window popped up...with no buttons in it. It had the normal text in the window, but none of the buttons for "next" or "quit". I closed the window and tried again...same thing. So I rebooted my laptop and tried again. But this time, I had the laptop open and it worked fine. I had forgotten to disable my antivirus, so it wouldn't let me install. After I disabled the antivirus and tried again, it didn't show me the buttons again. I realized it was because I had the laptop closed again and was working through the port replicator and external monitors. When I opened the laptop back up again, it worked perfectly.

Apparently, for some reason it will only display the buttons on the install window if you are viewing them on the laptop screen, not on external monitors. Anyway, not sure if that has ever happened to anybody else, but hopefully it will help if somebody has that problem in the future.

It could be related to your DPI settings. I have seen some apps behave that way as folks are going to higher quality screens. You can mess with the compatibility settings of the app on the shortcut used to start it but I do not believe this is an app bug - more a Windows and DPI setting issue. YMMV

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply it was the app itself...just to let people know how to deal with it if they had the same issue. I am pretty sure it is probably something in my settings and how my laptop is interfacing with the monitors through the port replicator.

Sounds like you are working on the "octane adaptive" tune to eventually run E85 with boost....

    Still confused....
I’m still on B03. Does @OVTune reccomend going to B04 as a “better” platform for the 1.05 tunes overall...?
I’m still on 1.03 and I don’t mind waiting for those tunes, performance/GL. But if the B04 is just a plain better platform for the new tunes then I would try to update the ECU.
Wish he would clarify this for me.

Any idea what this tune will be titled as? I’ve had this issue from day one of ownership, the dealer insists that it’s my duratracs that are causing the problem.

I’ve seen the problem from the test drive. It’s a very mild shudder but thought it was just the road surface. (Where I live that’s a real possibility). When I took it in for the TSB, dealer said it was normal so I never thought any more about it.

Good to hear that it will be resolved.

So, not to be a fly in the soup...

What causes stuttering in some M/T trucks?

I may know someone who has had this since brand spanking new.

Correct. Buy the hardware and then send a ticket to OVTune and request to purchase a license. As far as if it's worth it, it all depends what you're paying. I don't remember off the top of my head what he charges for licensing on used hardware.

I'm pretty sure Mat had confirmed it was the VVTi going nuts, at least on earlier versions of the tune. I wouldn't doubt it's the same thing stock.

Same valvetrain on a A/T truck... possibly causing the same symptoms.

I think there are two separate problems, with similar symptoms. (They likely feel very similar when driving). Mat also confirmed the TC unlocking and locking very quickly was a problem with some AT trucks.
