I’ll adjust mine on long road trip as necessary to get more comfortable. Been times I’ve stopped at rest areas for a quick nap and lower the front part of the seat to a more flat position.

Cool. I see where the seats in the upper end Tundra’s are comfy. Tacoma can take a few ideas from these seats

I have a 4Runner and it has the power seats. Really nice to be able to adjust them with ease if you feel uncomfortable after driving for 6-8 hours

I'm thankful that I fit fine and have no issues getting in or out of my Tacoma. Had no problem with the 2nd gen, which is not surprising.

1st gen is a bit tight for me, even access cab, not quite enough leg room.

Oh yeah, I'm 6'2". And I even have a sun roof in my 3rd gen.

Hello? Toyota? I would simply prefer a mechanical seat instead of a heavy, powered seat any day.

The thing is selling 250K copies a year. Cab design is a problem? Really? Ergonomics are designed for the 80% of people. The further you are out of that 80% the more problems you will have.

Nah......if you get yourself a shitbox 1984 Plymouth from the wrecker, nothing will work but the power seats. They will still be OK. Power seats, across all brands, seem hard to screw up.

Yup. Real back breaker to move power seats in and out of a car vs manual seats.

    See below
Agreed. I’ve had more issues with mechanical seats than power seats. Handles breaking or snapping, springs wearing out and the catches not working and end up with a seat that slides back and forth as you drive around until you tear into it and lock in place permanently.

All this excitement about the seat did you look to see if it had rear disc brakes?

Every time I think about power seats I think about John Candy in Planes, Trains and Automobiles where he breaks it.

Exactly, it usually consists of a small electric motor and a threaded rod, kinda hard to screw that up.

I know, right? Take them out, throw them on the charger then reinstall. Ugh. The cycle never ends.

That's the longest video on power seats I have ever seen. And it's also the shortest video on power seats I've ever seen.

    1st thanks for the video

I have only sat in one new tacoma and the seat hight was good for me, 6'1" & 230lbs, my problem getting in and out was my knees hitting the steering wheel. I am hoping to test drive some new mid sizes trucks in a couple of weeks, back to back. A big concern of mine is the adjustments to get comfortable on long trips, like my GX470 is OK, my girlfriend GX460 is great & so is the SLK350. now the passenger seat is also import to me, on a long trip, I might not always be driving, but still want to be comfortable.

P.S. loved the seats in the 1st gen limited I have owned & the SR5 pictured to the left.

One feature I like to see with power seat is memory recall. It is useful when service personnel or another driver moved the seat and you can simply recall your seat setting.

It doesn't seem the 2020 power seat has that feature.

Curious about this as well. At the 2020's lowest seat setting, is it any lower than the other 3rd gen Tacos?

I do not want rear disc brakes. Not after what I put my truck though this winter. There was 1” thick mud-turned-concrete covering the whole rear axle, and the outside of the drums. Inside, everything was still minty-fresh. Thank you Toyota for drum brakes!!!

And an 80 series land cruiser has busted ass power seats every time.

    I’ll take manual seats, please.

I'm 6'3" 275# and I have plenty of room in my `19 Tacoma w/a sunroof....
as stated earlier, wish the steering wheel telescoped about an inch further...
