You know what they say: “Once you go black....”

(you realize what a pain in the ass it is to keep clean and you drive yourself crazy trying and then swear to never get black again)

Had a black one in 05. Love it when it’s clean... but that only last 10 minutes. Never again.

... I’m also convinced that darker colors are more prone to clear coat failure these days. All manufacturers.

X3. I love MGM and it hides scratches unlike black, but it is just slightly easier to keep clean then Black and just sitting for a day, it looks dirty.

Late to the game- but nope shows wayyy too many trail marks. White for sure. Black looks SO sexy brand new or freshly buffed/waxed though. Only for about a day.

I just detailed my FIL black Sonata and it looked like shit before I started. Paint was faded and scratches all over the paint. Buffed it with my DA buffer and waxed and now i see shiny flecks of metallic in the paint. Looks AWESOME when finished but i did it this past Saturday, and it hasnt been driven and already looks dirty.

But to answer the question, NO! I have a hard enough time with MGM.

Be sure to separate the annoyance you felt owning a black vehicle with the general depression and great anger that comes from trying to keep a Mercedes Benz on the road.

Oh it was an amazing vehicle that I didn’t have one issue with except I press the sos button the first day I got it so the read light stayed on. Now if it didn’t get stolen and chopped up I may have ran into those issues lol.

Great vehicles to drive, terrible vehicles to own, other than the joy of getting to know your mechanic and always knowing just how much money you have left in your account.

So much fun to drive it was a AMG. When it got stolen it only had 13k on the clock. My neighbor has a 06 AMG C32 and it blew its transmission and it’s been sitting for the last 6 years just wasting away.

Yeah.....there’s a few of those around. Once fluid starts leaking out of your newer Benz you really gotta make some hard decisions about putting your kids through college or heading down to the dealer for a German-style boning.

And the chop shop that cut up your AMG got to help some other Benz-owning families from going bankrupt by supplying cheap stolen parts. It was a win/win
