Has anyone done a custom color of the space frame? If so, did they also change the color of the leading edge of the RTT - where it hinges? I'm thinking of going with red, but don't want the space frame to be red and that leading bar to still be orange.

Just swapped my GFC over from 3rd to 1st gen Tacoma. Simple bracket kit to accommodate the swap. Blown away by the interchangeability as long as you’ve got the same bed dimensions!

Yes, the custom color for the space frame includes the one in front you are referring to, and the one in the back where the tent latches.

What length bed is that? I was under the impression 1st gen double cabs had short beds. Is that true?

The double cab short beds are the same dimensions between 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen. Rail width varies by gen but the GFC swaps no problem.

I'll see if I can get some pictures. It's homemade and works well. But, I'm probably going to disassemble it this weekend and build something different.

Anyone hitting up the Toyota Takeover in Atlanta this year? We went down last year and had a blast. Hope to see a few GFCs down there this year. Mine will still be being built, but I’d love to check out a few in person.

This has to be the slowest day in this thread's history.

Here is the best part of owning the GFC. Pulling the two tent locking pins, pushing up one inch on the tent and yelling DONE! as the tent opens itself, while your buddy doesn't even have the first strap unhooked on his RTT. It's a great feeling. Then again, I'm an asshole.

Bourbon bro. It takes up less space in the dometic fridge. Plus, I’m a degenerate.

Me and the lady. Hanging out in the GFC on a Sunday morning, waiting for the hangover to kick in. Once you go .300 BLK you never go back... 8856CA8D-7AF5-433C-8DDD-DC3D1712C1E9.jpg

if it was my rtt i would still be laughing though. because once mine pops up my bedding and pillows are already inside, and my two latches and push is about the same time. you still have some work to do kid. will prob be a wash because i like a fancy ladder that is a pain to pack away and you are ladder less.

That’s a great distillery if you’re ever in park city. Worth a visit.
