That's one of the reasons he went to a flat bed several years ago, then SASed his truck, flexing bed rails have cost him lots of time and money

Yeah, the problem was easily remedied with a pile of parts, some steel, and a welder.

Maybe someone could design a mount off one or two of the bed frame mount bolts. Or, if mounting by the cab, strap it down for extra support to the bed frame mount bolts on either side of the spare.

I like the N Fab style carrier - in fact I was going to buy one soon. Hopefully it doesn't do this to my bed

Nope, it has stayed right there, and I have wheeled with it also. It's a real nice product. Has a brace that runs the length of the tire carrier.

It's the same one I have, instructions were all Tundra. If you would, please send me a pic of your Tundra. That's my very next build. Thanks.

Will this not end up causing the same issues are other bed rail mounts?

No problems yet, if you mount it at the end of the bed, I see it could. Where mine is mounted, it's pretty solid.

Old post I know but was the spare hanging from the mount or resting on the bottom? I mounted my WaterPort recently and that thing is bouncing all over the place, I need to rig something to come up from the bed floor and support it.

I've lost count of the number of rear driveshafts I've mangled. The new shaft is 3/8" wall, so she's less prone to twisting.

    Several times.

The tire was resting on the bed floor and still damaged the bed.
