265/75/16 All Terrains

Has anyone put these on without a lift? If so, how are they? Got pics?

 

265/75R16

these are stock size tires on the Taco aint they???

 

mine are 245/70/16. Mine is the SR5.

 

that's odd... all 3 of my Toy 4x4's came stock with 265/7x R16

I am 99.9% sure your 07 Taco can handle that size with no problem.

Rubbing issues usually result in tight turns with 275/7x R16 tires and a 3" lift is prolly recommended for that size.

i checked BFG's website and you are correct... for a 4x4 short bed Taco they dont make a tire for you...

I gotta 4dr 08..I wanna put a Daystar Polyurethane Shock Spacer in the front..which im told with add 2.5'' in the front and will allow for 33'' tires on stock wheels..im pretty confident this can be done..as my buddy's sister has an 07 Taco Access Cab tho..and she currently has the same set up..she said that she gets minor rub with 33's but i guess it can be done..her truck looks real good..i like the stance that she has..so im thinking it can be done..ill get pics of tire size and all that when i get it done..definatley let me know if u guys come across some other info..

Guys with 3" lifts running 32" tires get "minor" rub without trimming the fender wells

trying to run 33" tires with only 2.5" of lift is going to cause more than "minor" rub.

Though I suppose that your definition of minor and mine might differ somewhat.

 

Well thanks for the input..Im gonna do my homework and get to the bottom and see what will actually run..however..i do think you are most likely correct..it sounds right..thats what I was told though..I should have written the tire size down on her Taco and seen what it was..

 

I agree with Maverick491, I would not try 33's with 2.5" of lift. I have the 3" lift and only went with 32's because of some comments others here have made. I think you would have to do a bit of trimming in the wheel well.

I have an access cab and my truck came with 245's but either the TRD or double, I forget, came with 265's.

 

Maverick: i thought i heard of people running 33's with 3in lifts and only having minor rubbing, are you sure 32's will rub with a 3 in lift? even if you are still using the stock 16 in wheels?

 

I think using the stock wheels is the problem. If you buy aftermarket wheels the wheels are offset outwards and this reduces the rubbing.

 

I do not know for a fact, as I have not lifted my trucks I am only reporting that which I have read on this forem and on others, as well as on I think it was the Skyjacker website that their 3 in lift required fender well cutting to run 32" tires.

 

If you get aftermarket rims with some backspacing can you run 32's on 16's without a lift?

 

I think you need to watch changing the backspacing a great deal as you would then run the risk of the outside of the tire hitting the fender as the suspention fully compressed off road, or in extreme axle articulation.

I have seen this happen to a buddy's 98 taco running 31" x 10.50"s on stock suspension using wheels with more offset.

Besides the factory wheels are beautiful why would you want to change them?

 

I like the look of black steel wheels. especially on a black truck. I've also considered getting the factory wheels powdercoated

 

I'd go with powder coating the factory wheels. The design of the wheels looks sharp, the black would look good on your truck. I think that's your best bet. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Hey Reid, what size tires are on your truck in your sig? It that picture the 3" lift with the stock tires still on?

 

Yeah, i really like the steel wheels, but i've heard of too many problems as far as lug centric and hub centric and all that technical crap. i will probably end up just having mine powdercoated. i think i'm leaning towards a smoke grey color, not jet black. I currently have 16 in wheels with 31 in tires, it seems like i could hit 32's without rubbing, am i wrong to think that?
