    Hey guys,
I’ve got a 2012 Tacoma that gives of a high level of whining noise when letting off the throttle at 30mph but also 55+mph. I know there’s a TSB to replace the entire differential but being a 2012 I’m already two years out of power train warranty. Does anyone have a fix for this? Like replacing a ring and pinion etc.?

Mines making the same noise, think it's the diff also. Need to drive it while on a lift and see where the noise is coming from.
(reg. cab short bed, so no carrier bearing here)

Needle bearing on the drivers side of the front diff. Is your truck lifted ?

If this is the case ECGS makes a bushing to replace the shitty bearing. This bushing seems to be pretty popular with everyone on the forum.

No it’s stock. Still makes the noise in 4WD as well.

A video would be best of this. Are you feeling anything in the seat, brake pedal or steering wheel?
    How many miles ?
And if your really worried about the diff you can pull the drain plug and look for shrapnel.

It’s a similar noise to what the early 3rd gens are going through with their diffs. Feeling nothing in the seat or steering wheel, just a super annoying noise. 58,000 miles. I had the diff oil changed out with some Mobil 1 75w-90 about 3,000 miles ago, oddly enough I didn’t notice it before that

Have you checked the diff fluid level. Personally I hate letting other people work on my truck.
