A few months ago I put my truck up as a feeler for sale and today its final. Unfortunately, things have changed in my life and I need to move on from her. She's treated me nothing but great in owning her, but I just picked up a 1997 Land Cruiser and gotta change priorities.

Here is the info on the truck.

1996 Toyota Tacoma SR5 (V6)
5 spd manual transmission
Extra Cab with bed liner
Approx 79k original miles
Spent its entire life in Wilmington NC up until 3 years ago
Garage Kept, ZERO Rust, FRAME in great condition

It is located in NY/NJ area.

GOOD: It is stock with newer tires with plenty of tread life left. There is nothing wrong with the truck that I am aware of. I've owned it for about 3 years and flew down to Wilmington NC to buy it. Two owner truck to my knowledge and it appears to have had a re-coat of black paint done at some point. Not 100% on that, but truck looks to good to be original paint in my opinion. Everything in working order, AISIN Hubs, 4wd works, front and rear diff fluids just changed. Transmission shifts smoothly, clutch feels just fine. Interior in great shape. No rips on seats, no cracks on dashboard.

BAD: Missing small knob on original stereo volume and small chip in windshield.

Truck looks just as good in person as pictures show. Truly a great find. I spent a long time trying to find a First Gen in this shape and hope to pass it along to someone who feels the same way.

More than happy to send pics, etc. Hoping to have someone on this forum grab the truck. If not, unfortunately it will have to go on Bring a Trailer.

this is very close to what I am searching for replacement should my truck ever get 'totalled' by some dumshit driver yappin on their cell
almost the same as mine except for the wheels, mirrors, seats. When I saw SR5 i thought it would be exactly like mine
Do you still have the original blue gray tacoma floor mats?

have to ask ... What is wrong with it?
has the timing belt ever been changed

Previous owner sprayed black undercoat. Not sure why that was done being truck lived entire life in Wilmington NC with no salt, but from what I was told, previous owner was an older man who babied the truck so makes sense.

If seller would have asked closer to ACV (Actual cash value a TW member could have enjoyed this. Selling price of $9100 and he paid fees.

I have used cargurus and cannot find but maybe one or two near-like this in the whole country! ... I am still trying to find best and easiest place to do personal research for insurance purposes ... it sucks that I have to take it upon myself to find the value as KBB will stick me where the sun don't shine

There certainly is a pain in researching. Some say the appraised value or replacement value (what you give your insurance company) is market value (what the car actually sells for or close to. I feel your pain and don't have an easy answer.
