I really don't like the headlights on new vehicles. The lights on my worktruck don't have enough depth to see further on lowbeam than the older lights. High beams light up deeper than low beam but still can't safely drive the speed limit on the highways within the limits of the lights. Oncoming lights are just too fucking bright to the point that looking at the fog line doesn't work anymore unless it's an older vehicle on coming. I'm looking at different lights to add to the bumpers of my work truck and Jeep. I really don't like the LEDs. The old KC Highlights worked very well I thought.

Check the country of origin listed on the back of the package. Germany = good quality bulbs that last year's. Any other country listed = inferior pieces of crap that burn out in months.
Took me a while to learn that trick

Already did that....I'm using German bulbs. Tried the Mexican (Walmart) version. Not a huge difference. For some reason, all my front lights have short life (head lamps and amber marker lights)

I have a question for anyone who has traveled overseas.
My stepson is on our cellphone plan until he is out of college. I have always said he's covered until September after graduation. Well with him being in London this summer our cellphone company , US Cellular, can't give us an answer on what to expect our bill will be. So, if anyone has traveled overseas and can give me any ideas or advice that would be great.

hmmm....that usually did the trick for me. My Subie went through bulbs about every 3 months until I started paying attention to the labels.
I also had PIAA ultrawhite bulbs in my Taco and was happy with them, little bit more $ than the Sylvanias.

cant you prepay for a certain amount of minutes/data for a foreign carrier through your current provider?

Used to make more $$$ sense to either just get a local burner, or look into getting a local SIM card with a local carrier than to get into foreign roaming and data rates.

So I'm not the only one?! I get pissed driving at night anymore, I swear these lights on new vehicles blind me more times than not. Then again I seem to get pissed at a lot more things the last couple of years. At first would flick my highs at them and they would do the same back at me. Not sure there is much difference between their low and high beams I'm still blinded either way.

High of 38 tomorrow going to shoot skeet again. Snowpack still going down, at least it isn't going up. Couple of years ago got 2 feet of snow first week of May so awhile yet before thinking about putting blower away and think about mower. Started the Polaris Ranger up last night for first time in 4 months, cranked over and started first try I'll take that as a good sign.

Yeah the good old days of trying to make a call back to the States from overseas. I remember pulling into Greece and finally figuring out how to make an international call home only to find out my 4 year old English Setter had passed away. Out of all the calls I made Stateside over the years that is the only one I can actually remember the details. During Desert Storm they came on board with Sat. phones and we could call home for only a dollar a minute it was a bargain no one could resist. The line on the flight deck was so long I never did get to make a call.

Happy to hear I'm not the only one that hates the new lights :annoyed:

My daughter AND grand daughter both told me recently that the newer "ultra-bright" headlight bulbs don't bother them. It was made abundantly clear that just us "old folks" can't deal with bright lights...:boink:

I said PPPPPPfffffttttttt! :annoyed: in reply.
