Chevy 63 and 12” shocks go together like peanut butter and miller lite. The 12” shocks will easily be the limiting factor there. You’re gonna want 14” shocks, and different towers to fit them.

    This.

As discussed MANY times over in the lair, 63's are pretty much pointless on anything under 14" shocks.

Well I like peanut butter and Miller Lite. :anonymous:

For my needs, I'm not seeing an issue. I don't hardcore wheel, and drive a lot of highway to and from work...I want something that offers a better ride, better leaf springs that aren't going to turn into W's after hard use, and if one gets bent it won't cost $400 to replace a single spring...With that setup I would still be coming out cheaper than if I bought Deavers and a flip kit.

The extra 2" of droop from 14's would not be beneficial to me, and the archive garage towers are too damn expensive.

It’s not an extra 2” of droop, more like 4”-5”. Check out the extended shock lengths. Are you going to be doing this work yourself? It’s A LOT of work. I feel by the time you buy the 63 leafs, and all the little shit that goes with it, and fabrication consumables, you’re at the price of a bolt in leaf pack, and you’ve saved yourself a lot of work.

Let me look into that. I get what you're saying. The shocks are the same price, so guess it's better to suck it up and get the the more expensive towers then, huh?

I'll have help doing the swap. Hopefully by the time I'm ready I'll have a beater car, so I can have the truck down for an extended amount of time to make sure it's done correctly.

That’s what I’d recommend. Pony up the extra couple hundred and do it “right” the first time with the archive towers. In the end you’ll be happy you did!

Yeah, doesn't look that hard according to the 63 swap thread, but you know how it goes...always some shit going wrong...don't want to rush it and do it right(ish) the first time around.

Kinda figured, but wasn't really sure that you were joking or not.

Sure, if you have 5 people who can get shit done, it can be done in a single day

You can run front Ford shock towers too. That's what my brother is doing. I'm sure archive makes nice stuff but $$$$

See for yurself maybe they work well. :notsure: I watch what others do on here and most times they are correct sometimes not ya just don't know. To remove any doubt and speculation you know the AG's will work as they should.

Thought about it, but there are half a dozen people saying they have terrible clearance and they don't have room for a RR unless you run a 90* fitting off the shock which could lead to further clearance issues

Honestly IDk much about this shit anyway. @EatSleepTacos , @ovrlndkull , and @PyritePirateBill were the brains that figured most of this out. I was just there to cook, lend moral support, and look pretty
