I feel like they have promised that a lot, and many people learned to just get an unflashed ecu.

Damn it. I have all four new idler pulleys to put on the engine.

Maybe I need to look into doing something to the SC idlers as well while it’s all apart. What is this NST deal you guys speak of?

Non stop tuning makes a light weight aluminum set. 3pc I understand. Tempted to get the crank pulley if I do anything. @12TRDTacoma got it I believe. I may have missed any feedback from the results.

Did you get OEM equipment for the engine idlers?

Not OEM. But Gates replacements. Nothing fancy.

I looked up the NST stuff. I see the three piece kit. Didn’t see anything for the SC idlers however.

Correct on the nst. But lighter stronger pulleys with better heat dissipation could make things last longer right?

Hmmm. I suppose. I’m done chasing more HP at this point. Just want to avoid crunchy idlers lol

Well, I did my transmission drain and fill last night. Drained maybe 3 qts from the pan, but when I went through the fill procedure it seemed like it took over 4 to get it to the proper level. Fluid was a bit dark even after 24k on this fluid change since I did the S/C and valve body mod. Time to see if my odd shifting behavior was from low fluid.

What valve body kit did you do? Did you do it yourself? I have a ratiotek kit waiting to be installed, probably having a local trans shop do it for peace of mind...

DIY Ratiotek kit. It was actually very straightforward. Just take your time and have an inch-lb torque wrench. Good satisfaction of knowing you can work on an AT and not F it up.

Understandable, just don’t wanna mess up something I’ve got a lot invested into.

I think my biggest concern is messing up the location of the balls.

I’ve got the same kit I believe, any notes or comments on performance?

Yeah. Comes in a can and you spray it on. Or you can get it in gallon jugs and put it on with a sprayer. It smells pretty pungent and will keep the truck smelly for a week or so. It won’t wear off though which is nice
