So I don’t actually work at mobtown, but I’m friends with the owner, ambassador, hang out there, whatever.

Today was my first time I welded a product a customer would see. Burned together 25 hi lift adapters. Took like an hour and a half and man that shits exhausting welding that much for that long. Mad respect to those that do.

Made some progress on my trailer rehab. Still no welding, but got a lot of my metal cut and prepped. Included a pic of my mobile vise. Just wanted to say it is really handy for outdoor grinding and welding. I am paranoid about sparks in my garage. When it is tilted back about 20-30 degrees, the wheels take over and it becomes mobile.

All the bracing is made from some old bed frame angle I had laying around. If you've never used bed frame steel, you'd be amazed at how high the bending force is on it. Check you local Salvation Army/Goodwill. It's definitely worth the money. Don't laugh until you've used some.

Yeah man it welds great! I’m super stoked on it.

Thanks dude. I’m very happy with the deal I got. I found it on OfferUp and it was at a pawn shop about 40 mins from my house.

My best guess is that somebody owned it, desperately needed some cash and came in and sold it for super cheap. Thats probably why the shop was able to sell it so low to me. The pawn shop was in a really nice part of town and good area. They had 5 star reviews on quite a few websites so I was more comfortable about the whole thing. When I got there I spent like 15 mins going over the machine with a fine tooth comb. Looked at the drive roll, power cable, ground cable, gun, trigger, everything. The ground and power cable still had factory zip ties on them keeping them together haha. Inside where the drive roll is you could tel that no wire had every gone through since the roller still had plastic wrapping on it haha

    Super stoked on the deal

No visual signs of dropping. Just a small scratch on the front that looks like it was from moving it around in the pawn shop.

I asked the guys at the shop if it was sold to them or pawned and not picked up and they told me it was sold to them. I figured they must have bought it pretty cheap to sell it for as cheap as they did to me. They took $1850 cash so the ticket was written up at like $1695 with $155 tax. So they really sold it to me for $1695

Wellpppp looks like my test Monday and Tuesday were a waste of time since apparently they tested me for the wrong code. Told the company to fuck off and loaded my shit and went home lol.

How does someone test for the wrong code the only real differences would be material process and position and the amount of flaws allowed .

Then things might have changed since My last certification time flies the last 19 years went so very fast

    In any case It sucks

Something that attracts your attention should come along

Basically. They tested me for the pressure vessel and tank code when I needed the structural code. Literally only difference is one is with backing and one is open root. I did the open root which would be easier but today they wanted me to take em all all over again

I attached 2 pics. One of the WPS and test I did Monday and what they wanted me to do today

Tuesday I finished all the test on the first WPS. So ignore that they aren’t all checked off.

Right. Also depends on how you're testing for. I've had 12" 5g, 2"xx open root, 12 on 12 branch, hot tap 12 on 12 with water pumped through the main. That last one was 7018 open root. Weird one.
