lol it's not fictitious. it is real in other states. there are real, non-fictional examples that prove Alabama football itself is not needed for the state of Alabama to be "better"

Nah, thanks though. It looks to be a great price for what it is, but I'm not in the market enough to warrant a trip to Florida.

there's a million things that could make Alabama a better place Alabama football just happens to be one of them. No State football team supports the economy of any state totally but it helps. The original topic of this was supporting a football team. So tell me how supporting LSU football would improve the state of Alabama better been supporting Alabama football that does exist in this state right now?

it shows that the state is open to supporting other fanbases as well and welcomes in a variety of other people to spend money in the state, not on Alabama football stuff.

I can tell you if there weren't other fanbases here, and that it was only Alabama fans...this state would die off within a couple hundred years. It would be quarantined off from the rest of the country lol.

It's not. I've received zero benefit from you buying an Alabama shirt or an Alabama football ticket. That's a fact.

Yes, some sales tax goes to the state from buying products, but very little. You cannot pinpoint any benefit that has been provided to me by the existence of Alabama football, that would not also have been provided without the existence of Alabama football.

I'm not preaching against anybody lol. I'm saying that a single sports program provides very minimal benefit to the state as a whole, and only noticeably to the program itself and the city it exists in. And that it can be replaced without noticing any impact to the state that it is gone.

It's not just taxes they are entire businesses that depend on not just the University of Alabama but all Alabama football. Hoping an out-of-state team wins does even less for the state of Alabama that's my point.

And I didnt say you were wrong!!!!!

I'm saying the state of Alabama would be equally as successful without Alabama football. Or without Auburn or without whatever sport you want to mention. Because the people that reside here would find something else to care and cheer for and support. Say it's the Falcons, or say it's an NBA team. Those mom and pop shops you mentioned would be making those shirts then. The success or failure of the Alabama football program has so very little impact on the success of the state of Alabama as a whole. And that's a fact.

Now you're back to fictitious scenarios I'm talking about what exists right now helps the state not what maybe

It's not fictitious! Name one thing that the Alabama football program has provided that has benefitted me.

Also Alabama is so popular they have fans all over the world that buy merchandise that if they didn't exist they would not. You can't say that any other team in the state has the selling power but Alabama does.

They only have fans all over the world because 3rd world countries get sent their failed national championship shirts.
