Can painted wheels be repaired?

Been very rainy. Got some wheels mounted(sr8s bronze) and just washed yesterday.

noticed faint scratches from the mounting. Called and complained and tire shop (discount tire) said come on by and see what they can do.


Before I go just wondering if they can even be repaired?

 

I'm no painted wheel expert but couldn't you just use some rubbing compound/wax on them like a vehicle paint job? I know they don't have a clear coat, but I heard it was good to wax them once in a while anyways.

 

In short yes, they can be repaired. If they are painted they can be repainted you just need a good color match. If they are anodized then they can still be repaired but unsure of the process

 

yea Im wondering If I should let them touch them and end up with something worse, or just figure something else out on my own.

 

IDK where you are but look for a wheel repair or refinishing company. Dent wizzard does it. See if they will give you a quote and submit it to the place that mounted them. First find out if painted or anodized

Yea I think I'm just gonna avoid them and figure out a fix myself worried they'll make it worse

 

I was traveling north on McColl, and a quicksand long bed was traveling south... didn't get to see the wheels, but they were either SCS, or Method.
