UAH. A university not created by the Alabama football program. In Huntsville, a city not given revenue from the Alabama football program.

 

I'm sure the success of Alabama football program bringing in money to Tuscaloosa help fund the start-up of UAH

 

Prove it. Being "sure" of it doesnt have any standing at all. I doubt it did. Because if you look at where the revenue for the Alabama football program goes, it is to nothing outside of the program and staff and scholarships. The only thing you can pinpoint that is of any benefit to the WHOLE state is simply tax money, and that money would and does exist without the Alabama football program or with it. It does not impact the economic situation in this state a very sizable amount.

 

But you're straying off from my point again. Hoping for an out-of-state team to win does a lot less for the state I live in

 

Your original point was that you wanted to support a state and not an ego. So why not only support the small school in the state?

I was saying the impact of the success of the football program you pull for in regards to this states "success" is so minimal that your point doesnt make much sense. Alabama was a successful state and will be a successful state even when the football programs suck. Even when other states teams are better.

 

No my original point was I pull for all Alabama teams whoever is doing the best is who I vote for.

Want to know how to make the state a better place? Less focus on football and more focus on your fellow man. Regardless of fanbase.

 

No I'm not feeling ego I'm pulling for whoever's doing the best so they can represent this state and bring money back to it

 

And that was my point..the money they're bringing back isnt benefitting the whole state as much as you seem to think it is. It's very minimal. Its lining their pockets and benefitting the program and the staff.

 

Oh I agree with that but changing the subject won't make the fact go away that pulling for an in-state team helps Alabama more than pulling for an out-of-state team that was my point

 

I don't disagree with you, as I havent disagreed fully with Jeff. I'm saying that program itself can disappear and those jobs will be filled for other items. Check the other successful states that dont have Alabama. Its factual that Alabama football is not needed for the success of this state.

Show me the numbers where a down season for Alabama and an up season for another team affected the economy or state of alabama

 

Fact of the matter is....this state would be better off without Alabama football.

 

Now you're back to what ifs. I'm sure the state would still exist without any sports. But the fact is we do have sports in Alabama and them winning generates money for Alabama so why would I want an out-of-state team to win. That's my only point
