@Bridge4 What do you think my odds are for some weekend S&S (skinning and sliding) at the BEast? Think there is still snow there?

Really depends on the next few days. We only have a couple of inches left in our woods even in the packed down spots. You could probably do it, but I wouldn't be confident the whole mountain would be available.

I don't blame Big Y for leaving at all, that store was crap inside, can't handle the standardized "big Y/Market 32" requirements for products and Adams won't let them use bags, which lost my business, and others I know. I think between the age of the store,taxes/town leaders there is just wasn't worth it for Big Y, and no one should be forced to run a business in a shitty town just because people's feelings. IMO Adams is one of the worst run towns anywhere near us and I wouldn't ever own property or a business there. These new bag laws might be trendy, but I don't shop in the towns that don't let you have a bag, and I'm not the only one.

That said, this Adams Market seems like it will be a great fit, and hopefully lasts decades. They are a small company not trying to be some big grocery chain and the store size is perfect for them. It should be a much better fit for the town in that regard, but I'm not sure if will last. I think there is a lot stacking against any company that moves into that spot, I don't know if you are familiar with that part of Adams, but there's limited disposable income around there, which allows for small profits for the company. So if they don't stay super busy, they will be in trouble. THey did rehire a lot of the former employees though and seem to have the right attitude, so I am rooting for them.

Sorry I'm a little negative about all this, but the way people have reacted like Big Y is some evil group, and not putting any blame on the town itself is bewildering to me. Adams has routinely done things that make it hard to be a business there, and if companies leave, that's their own fault. If it was profitable, they wouldn't have left.

    Yes.
I shop in Lenox at the PC there. They got rid of bags a while ago. Makes for some interesting grocery runs when I don't have enough bags with me. But......
I really hope that new owner does well. I really liked reading that he hired everyone back and was seeking input from the employees. Seems like he is smart in that respect.
Will keep my :fingerscrossed: for them.

Yes I agree 100% want them to succeed and they seem to have good ideas and a positive attitude. Also isn’t their first rodeo so they should be going into this eyes wide open.
