Quite a lot of Tacoma inventory at local dealers, but I haven't noticed any new inventory arriving since a couple weeks ago. Just wondered if anyone knows whether they're done building new 2019's?

They're not going to ship new inventory until someone actually ORDERS new inventory, which won't happen until the CURRENT inventory depletes.

I'd be surprised if they have. Sales are slowing but not that much

They cannot stop production without incurring massive losses at their plants. They also cannot store the amount of vehicles they produce every day, so they must ship them out.

I think it’s just your imagination.

Note that he's mentioning LOCAL dealers. Nothing says that they have to be shipping new builds into *his area*.

The OP mentions them being “done with building 2019s”, and the thread title asked if they’ve stopped building them. I can’t imagine that’s the case, unless they are going to start shipping 2020s next month, which would be dumb.

Right... and the answer is NO, they haven't shut down. Its not even close to time to switch to 2020's.

March and April is too early. Automotive typically ends production in July and retool 2020 model years to start in August.
Here’s a link for fleet production which has mirrored consumer vehicles in the past.

Well, 2020 Corollas are already in inventory at dealers, so I just thought I'd ask.

Good question ... on a related note, didn't someone just post a picture of two 2020 Tacomas in front of the Baja Mexico plant a day or two ago?

Does anyone know if Toyota will start producing the 2020 models a bit earlier than usual this year (e.g. April/May versus say late summer)?

Still a long wait.... to be disappointed.

The real changes won't take place till 2022 if the second gen was the barometer.

I often thought the front end of the 2005-2011 Tacoma was homely.

Without looking, I would guess it is an all new Corolla which is common when they introduce a new model mid year and sell it for a year and a half.

Yep. Someone with inside info alluded to 2022 as a 2023 model.

You may be correct about the 2019. There are none at my dealer. I also agree about when the new ones come out, in the fall and then you get power seats. Big deal......Not.......
