Losing a game has less economic impact than someone losing an argument is what I’ve learned.

Good grief yall are ridiculous about this.

Yes 2.5 billion is a lot of money.

Yes winning games brings more money than losing.

Yes Alabama football affects the economy to an extent. The most it's ever affected was 1%.

No, 1% loss in economy does not hurt the entire state as a whole in a noticeable fashion. No, losing Alabamas football program does not hurt the state as a whole a substantial amount.

    Geezus.

Alabama football is very significant when it can bring in that much money. I mean a sports team is bringing in great numbers. Sure a manufacture brings in almost 2B more, but what do I not get?

You have more time to argue than most as you’re replying to 5 different people telling you The Football Team helps the states economy.

I never said it doesnt help. That's what you do not understand. The 1% would not just disappear from the economy if the football program is gone. It would be spent in a lot of other places too. Yes it would go down, but the overall state impact of the Alabama football program is insignificant as I said.

As Jeff said, a penny helps. DUH. But is 1 penny significant? No. Not just 1. Just like the 1 program I'm discussing would not hurt the economy in a noticeable fashion.

Good grief I keep having to repeat myself.

It’s the weekend. I’m out. I’ll check this a little here and there.

Managing money is one thing I believe I do well, and if I lost 1% of my portfolio I wouldn’t be eating ramen, but that 1% might have turned into two or three percent had I had it to invest in other ways. I’m ending with 1% could be a detriment to an economy based on how the 1% is used.

You implied it several times. If the screen printing shops didn't have Alabama sales I can make it up
That's been my whole point from the beginning why would I want an out-of-state team to win because that does not improve the state of Alabama any. And you have been coming back with the money they generate does it matter but it does.

The entire 1% doesnt disappear. That's just the most they've ever contributed. Most of that is earned from fans spending money. Those fans would still have that money to spend without the football program. They would spend it on other things in the state. So the whole 1% isnt lost. It's even less than 1 that would be lost..sorry that's not a large financial impact.

The boosters comment was a joke with the lol at the end. I was literally being ridiculous.

The other comment I didnt say losing is better than winning. I simply said losing causes a certain affect that still includes making money.

Lol my point is still pulling for an out-of-state team does not do what Alabama football does for the state. So whatever team is doing well in the state of Alabama I will pull for no matter who that is

Last comment, that money would be gathered elsewhere. They would sell other team stuff, they would still sell the other stuff they sell now. It's not all gone. 1% or .01% the entire state would not notice the effect.

What makes you so sure but the effect couldn't be felt.

Because the state has lost that much before, and nobody noticed. Just go look at alabamas numbers year after year.

If we had more money coming into the state this new gas tax wouldn't be in effect that affects everybody. So all the little small amounts of money but you think don't matter if added up it does matter

I never said all the little amounts Jeff. I said 1 amount. 1 source of money. 1 program. 1 thing. Stop adding to that.

Back to my original statement pulling for an out-of-state team does nothing to help any number like Alabama football does

You can't look at it that way it's all the little things that make up Alabama's budget
