Yep. I’m getting tired of this structural shit anyway. Time to get into pipe and combo

 

Anyone in SoCal want this thing? It’s been floating around the shop for a while. I’ve never used it and am ready to trash it. Free to anyone in SoCal who wants to pick it up. Located in Santa Clarita

There is a lot of mig welding in here, for those of you that have don’t it a bit, how hard is it to switch up and run tig?

 

Like use a mig machine for tig? You can’t lol.

 

Mig is constant voltage. While stick and tig is constant current. Totally different machines and setups.

 

I think he’s asking how hard is the learning curve from MIG to TIG

 

No, I know there different machines.
I’ve been mig welding with a miller 255 and a plasma cutter.
If I don’t have access to them anymore I’m looking at buying my own machine and keep seeing a plasma tig stick combo. Not sure if it’s a good way to go or better off spending the cash to get 2 machines, a mig and plasma.

 

Did some practice today with some scrap. IIRC it was 10ga plate and 12ga square tube. Lincoln MP350 with @ 17.5 volts and 205 ipm. Trying to make my beads a bit prettier, and more consistent. Any tips?
