Cool - I'll keep in touch during the week. There is a dive taco place in San Marcos off 35 that would be a good meet up, but have to depart there by 6:30 A.

    That's, kinda early. It's a bit of a drive. What's the plan?

It's a hella drive for you. But kinda need to be in the church lot around 7:30 or before 8:00. They only go to 10 AM, then the police chase them out. So earlier is better. I understand if you don't want to go that early. I figured it's only about 45 minutes for me from the house to North SA, and 1610 loop, but then it's another 20-30 minute chunk (depending on traffic - which they sure have) out to 10 West where the lot is. I left my house at 6, got some donuts, then got there at 7:45 by myself.

Try 46 in New Braunfels over to 281. Less traffic and some pretty scenery on country roads. It would get you about a 10 minute lead by avoiding the 35/1604 intersection.

That's a good route, but as first trip to the meet, took the obvious. Really, 35 not that "bad", but 1604 was clearing a huge wreck - gone by the time I got there. I simply forgot how FAR 1604 takes to go across the North!
I may well use this on the next trip, now that I know where it is. Thanks boss!

Understood, and would be more fun if picking up folks as you go. Oddly enough, I consider myself in the middle of ATX and SATX. Except that ATX C&C is at COTA (and many members are North), which is 20 minutes from here. And SATX C&C is in NW SA, which turns out to be an hour and change!!!
And I am finding out that next SA meet might not even be on the 6th, but Austin is on the 7th for sure!

Oh, you guessed my plan! Yes, too many for me and the wife. Probably would have stopped and got arrested for giving tacos away somewhere!

I'm about 30-45 minutes north of Austin, going to COTA takes about 1.25 hours for me

Double that for an SATX meet. So, we'll make a more fun group plan, maybe this summer. They are always Saturday in SA, and sometimes @MattCowsmasher gets a Saturday off.....

I'm cool with that. I've been wanting to take the family to San Antonio. We've never been there (minus that tiny army camp that is like 1 square mile)
