Camped in Wallowa Whitman NF Wednesday night, and then on BLM land right outside Bend Thursday.

Yes. I drive with it down almost every day. Only thing the truck is missing is under seat storage, but there is an option to buy that on Amazon also. You just have to cut some of the floor insulation to install it.

What’s the best time of year to go see crater lake?

 

When there is no fire. Last summer the fire ruined my trip down there, completely smoked out

I’m kind of thinking sometime within the next few weeks. I’m wondering if there’s less people in the winter?

 

I went last August and couldn't see the water because of all of the smoke. This year has the makings for more of the same unfortunately.

On the Bend comment, I agree and so do a billion other people who want to or have moved there.

I live right by crater lake I would say May or June. They had a lot of snow up there the road that goes next to the lake is still closed I believe.

You can stretch way out in the back in the crew max. It'll be a sad day if I ever sell my taco but I'd only upsize to that crew max. Too bad you cant really wheel a tundra around here.

 

um well, not so fast...
I spied a F150 crew cab on the trails at Tahuya AND when on Fins-n-things in Moab, at a technical section of the trail, a Ford F150 FX4 thing pull out of there. We asked how it did: "lot's of 'Merica and 8 point turns"

 

I might have been at Tahuya when you were there. I was astonished that thing went where it did.

 

Just a heads up to those who use the forest roads around Mt Hood and the gorge.. Some a-holes burned a pile of pallets leaving hundreds of nails adjacent to Fir Mountain Road at the Wasco/Hood county border. I called various agencies, but nobody cares.

 

Anybody in the Spokane or eastern WA area/Idaho doing cab mount chops?
