I have a bottle at home, but haven't opened it, yet. Waiting for my brother to get home later this Spring.

I like the concept behind it.

Well, figures. Day after I post Hibki Harmony has been AWOL for months I get a text message that BevMo has them in... $10 more than Total Wine, but at least I know they are still out there.

Been drinking JW Black or Teachers Highland which is a heavy peated blended scotch as its a good value. Opened the Laphroaig 10 tonight... the smokiness is fantastic. This may be my new favorite

I'm planning on snagging a bottle or two next week... looking for some peated options as my stash at home is.... nonexistent in that respect.

I have tried Lagavulin 16 and Ardbeg Uigeadail, not many others with peat. I'm thinking a Laphroaig 10 and Highland Park 12. Any recommendations?

I'm 43 and can't get into whiskey/scotch. At what age does it become tolerable?

Hp 12 is not very peaty.

    It's very tasty however.

    What's your budget?

I forced myself a couple bottles of glenlivet 12 and Weller 12 when it was affordable. Dropped it for a couple of years, tried some again and it all clicked.

Work on developing your palate. Cigars is a good start.

I'll give it a go again, I try a couple times a year. Maybe I'll give the stuff you mentioned a try, Woodford reserve & Beam/Knob Creek didn't do it for me. Thanks.

Sir, you don't like wiskey/whisky, maybe rum or tequila is going to satisfy your tastes. Nothing wrong with that...

Why would you want to learn how to like bourbon?? It's not exactly a healthy passion. I wish that I didn't like it so much.

Eh, not looking to go crazy. I'd like to get 2ish bottles under or around $100.

Wanted to try something new, to me anyway, so I picked up a bottle of Old Grand Dad 114. Was wondering whose distillery it came from as I was pouring it. I instantly thought of Jim Beam extra aged once I tried it. Not bad.

I think the next thing I try will be something pricier. It's either going to be an EH Taylor small batch, or Booker 2017 (didn't see which release).

Booker is bad post 2016 to be honest

Knob creek sb is a personal favorite of mine.

Grandad 114 is great but very 1 dimensional.

Well I've had some time to try a few now and I definitely like the Knob Creek 100 proof 9 year aged best as far as bourbons go. It's very smooth and it's about $25 a bottle too so not terrible.

I do want to try some more scotches, so does anyone have any suggestions for a good one in the roughly $15 range for a 375ML bottle? I just want a small bottle until I can find one I really like, but don't mind spending a little more than that if I have to. I've always wanted to try some well aged Glenfiddich but don't feel like paying $60+ for a single bottle.

for that budget youre better off sticking with bourbon, rum or tequila there arent of ton of decent scotches less then 40 really that I would recommend.
