    2019 Cement SR5
First off, I am brand new to the Tacoma community just recently purchasing my first Tacoma yesterday! A 2019 cement SR5. It's a beautiful truck and I envision so much more beautiful things happening to it.

Aside from a few cosmetic things on the exterior I really want to upgrade the wheels. But please forgive me, not only is this my first tacoma, it is my first truck and I am clueless as to what tires are best for what situations and what size tire I should use before hurting the integrity of the reliability.

I am looking for a nice all round tire. I will do most my driving on the road but will occasionally take it off the road. It will be my daily commuting vehicle. Also, I do want the tires to look mean like they should on such a great truck.

I am hesitant to put on big off roading tires because idk how well it will preform on the road as well.

Please, any advice would be great. I'm lost as to everything at the moment. What size, what type... I will continue to do my own research but I hope you all also have some great advice. Thanks in advance!

Go through the tires that came with it first then do Falkens or Hankooks

265/70/17s are the biggest tire you can fit if you have 17” wheels

265/75/16s are the biggest tire you can fit if you have 16” wheels.

Look for an all terrain tire that’s C rated for good traction and a decent ride.

Falken AT3Ws are very good, especially considering the price.

Weight difference from stock? Did those affect your MPG?

I have wild trail ctx in 235/85/16 , i drove 90% highway and a little off roading. These handle great in snow and rain and are considered a hybrid tire and at least in Pa these are only $110 each. So far I have 29,000 miles on them and have had zero issue and they are still around 15/32 , i even suggest mastercraft cxt if your looking for more of a name brand. I used to rock hybrids on my wrangle i always had good luck with them .

Another vote for the Falken Wildpeak AT3.

I cannot say enough great things about them. Low road noise, no balance issues like k02s, they're at an amazing pricepoint, they habdle just about any condition amazingly, and they look good. Theres literally no downside.

I’m seeing the weight for the Falkens at 43.9 pounds.

The Goodyears have a few different weights depending on model of the same tire.
I’m guessing they were the lighter version at about 37 pounds.

When new, with the smaller Goodyears, the mileage around town was at 16.8 on the display.
I had the Falkens installed at 985 miles from new, and of course they’re larger in diameter and circumference, but the mileage is showing in the 17 mpg range mostly around town.

I haven’t hand calculated it or looked at the mpgs on long trips, and I’m not concerned or curious about it these days as I’m driving about half as many miles as in years past.

I wish there was a C rated option in that size, or at least something closer to 45 lbs per tire. Most I see in that size are 55 lbs per tire or more but I think it's a great size for the Tacoma.

Hankook Dynapro ATMs in the stock 265/70/16 size would be a good fit for your purposes. They would give you a little more versatility for rough terrain, their price is hard to beat, and they look awesome with their white letters, IMO. If it were me, I'd run the stock tires awhile to get some use out of them esp. if you are just doing occasional, casual off-roading. Then again, some tire shops will give you a decent trade value if you swap them when they are new.
