I've got the A61 too and mine does this around 60-70mph range, feels great getting to that point and then goes to turtle mode lol.

I have a 2017 TRD OR, 285/70r17 Nitto's, ARE Overland cap, was on 04B03, 1.05/93 tune. Ran great!

Went to the dealer today to get flashed to 04B04 via 2 TSB's I got off of TW (thanks!).

Heard some stories where others tried to get flashed to 04B04 and dealer would not do it.
So what I did was flash back to stock(though that's not needed, but I was covering all bases....just in case), then took 2 copies of the TSB's, circled the 'issue' on each TSB and then wrote in big letters near the bottom of each TSB what I wanted done.
I told the service person, I had both the surge issue and the stumble issue especially when driving at altitude, I mentioned when I was driving up Colorado(have not been there in the truck, but you know, it could/would happen right!)....down here it's flat Texas Gulf Coast.

I also told the service guy that I was using 93 octane gas since it seemed to help some with the TSB issues noted(Texas Tall tale). The intent was so they wouldn't drive the truck and then say they couldn't duplicate the 'issue's'...then no 04B04 flash.
    Worked like a charm...

I just flashed the 04B04, 87 Perf tune this afternoon.
I do like the tip-in probably because of the larger tires and ARE cap, does ride a tiny bit rough shift wise, but just very slightly....going to drive it a few hundred miles as has been mentioned here to give it time to settle in.
If not then over to 91 tune.

    Happy....happy...happy.

@OVTune My machine is a Windows 7 partition on a Macbook, not virtual windows. I have admin privileges and no anti-virus software. I still cannot seem to connect to my ECU. The data logger reads back my vehicle VIN but not an ECU ID.

Awesome that’s what I’m getting lifted with weight and tires. Around town (short trips, not so much)

Next fill up I’ll give the 91 base a try

Try connecting through flash software instead of logger software. Are you connected to the truck, ignition on?

If you're trying to just get your ecu id, use flash software. If trying to log, that's normal

For gear lock: the actual gear lock is when it’s in S mode correct? So when it’s in regular D mode, how does it compare to base and performance?

Gear lock is an option for the performance tune.

You have to shift to S and turn on ECT to get gearlock

Got my truck back from the dealer, my ECU is now 04B04, when I going to flash manager is my tune now stock because of the new number?
Or do I need to send the new “read” file to ovtune

None of the above. Select the year of your truck and then ecu 04b04. You can use the gearlock, base or performance tune of your choosing.

The stock file is what the dealer put on your truck.

Try running a base tune but use ECT. I have found that ECT helps keep the RPMs up while driving around town. Usually its between 1500-2000 RPMs, which is where this engine needs to be or else it is just bogging down. ECT also makes the throttle more responsive, but not nearly as touchy as a performance tune. You can try ECT on a performance tune, but the throttle is way too sensitive then.

yes, and I like the more power with 91base. Especially to maintain speed above 65mph, it hold it and shifts only sometime in the 5th. It is more souvereign

Are you actually a dongle user?
