Oh the lights don't actually function in this one, my next one I might make is either going to have functioning lights or possibly IFS. It's one or the other while I figure out how to do it. Eventually the goal is to make a small 1/64th scale RC version of my truck... hopefully my incoming 3d printer will help with that.

Also have the blue one. Stopped collecting busses years ago because they were getting expensive. Sold most of them off but still have a few.

Got my other bug in the mail today. Left is the darker blue stripe flames and the right one is the teal or lighter blue stripe flames. Looks the same to me but is a darker red.

Fist one is the lighter and second one is the darker. Looks the same blue to me. What do you guys think?

One's lighter and more worn down, notice the wear at the FWD section of the roof line of the lighter one and around the grille. The darker one looks like it's brand new, therefore probably still has all of it's clear coat/top coat present. Different batches as the decals don't line up as well on the darker one either.

Exactly what I was thinking. The lighter one I bought years ago already opened. The darker one I just got yesterday and was still in the package. I opened it because they looked the same to me and wanted to see it better. O well it’s better than the one I had. Only a few of them for sale that I can find. One is a worn and the other is way over priced. ( with the teal blue striped flames )

Looking closer, the darker red one seems to have lighter blue flames than the other. Not sure if that qualifies as teal. Like Bruce was saying, different batch so the colors are a bit different.

So I had that birthday bug sitting on the counter and my wife was playing with it and it started playing happy birthday music! This car has been sitting in a case for about 15 years and I didn’t know it played music.

I do have a couple of Baja bugs that did play a siren sound and the lights on the roof blink back and forth. Stopped working many years ago so I decided to try and pull them apart to see what kind of batteries are inside.

No screws in the bottom. Just a slot in the back and rivet in the front. Was able to pry the back out and lift high enough to slide the inside of it out but looks like I might need to get the soldering iron out.

I've had this Maisto '87 Buick Regal sitting around for awhile. Finally opened it up only to see the windscreen is warped. Crap.

Remember the Hot Wheels Sizzlers? People had fun adding them to their collections until the offgas from the rotting batteries was corroding their entire collection. My suggestion, store them separately just in case.

I do remember them. I don't have any of them and don't remember what kind of battery was is them.

Tried to take a video but didn’t work so just a picture. Got this one back together and working. Siren and lights blinking back and forth. Have a few more to do but each car takes two batteries at $5 each

I have a couple with a single red siren, I'm gonna look to see if they're supposed to light up. And now I want one of those happy birthday bugs!
*edited * nope, just colored plastic bit.
