But, but, BUT! Your RTT is more of a wedge camper anyway. Call it a hybrid? Just no batteries.

factory side step, didn't get a chance to do anything to it yet, haven't even got to put it in 4 wheel mode yet. Lame, but I work a lot.
I really like how low profile it is. Also the color seems like it would match any color Taco.

True friendship overcomes all, I suppose.

Selling you buddy your RTT is like introducing him to your crazy Ex.

It's been raining a lot recently, as well as a few feet of snow the last two months which in the rust belt is a pretty good place to test rust resistance (camper has the V2.0 gasketing by the way). Overall have been really impressed with the water intrusion and rust resistance!

The only joint that will rust are the screws that hold the latching pins in place which I sprayed with boeshield and has been fine since; also helps lube the sliding joint. All the powder coating and anodizing works 100%, not an ounce of rust spotted on the frame; even the struts only have small amounts of surface rust, but that hasn't intruded any further.

Water intrusion is minimal, however the rear will leak between the tailgate seal and the bulb seal as the gasket that flows down the edge of the rear panel doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the frame. I plan on adding a stopper on the panel or attached to the truck rail cap. The only other joint that has some intrusion is the side panel on one side must have not fully sealed as I have a minor leak. I plan on caulking that on the interior joint all around now that I noticed this. Attached are some pictures, but as you can see the amount of water intrusion is minor considering this is during outright downpour.
    IMG_0535.jpg IMG_0533.jpg

Minor issues like this are not a failure in my eyes as a little update to the gasketing and better quality control will fix this, not to mention it is a $10 fix and an easy DIY to limit the water intrusion.

At the end of the day....these minor leaks are better than folding up a wet RTT

That’s what mine is doing right now.. in my apartment complex. Luckily the managers are used to it. When I first started setting it up apparently people called thinking someone was living in the parking lot… Lol

100% agreed lol. I haven't ever owned a RTT and this was on sale when I was in the market for a truck cap and tent. Was my calling to purchase. It's been great so far; camping season over here is about to start. Inauguration camping set for next weekend by taking it to the dunes for some whoops.

Out in the field for work last week doing some equipment testing. I just lived out of my GFC instead of spending 40 minutes driving from the hotel each day. Worked out perfect!

I made the trip to Belgrade Friday to get the camper. So far I love it. Very easy to set up and tear down. 8 months is a long time to build up expectations for something like this but it lives up to the hype. One thing to remember is that you're still just working with a 5 foot long Tacoma bed so that space is limited but that is not GFC's fault.

    Truck looks sooo rad! Congrats!
Just remember that 5’ bed can actually accommodate more now with the ability to hang some gear than without the GFC.

It’s wonderful. I echo everyone else’s sentiment. My gf and I camped out that night in southern Idaho after stopping at the Bozeman hot springs nearby to soak and clean up. Slept well in it that night and was rested for the 10hr drive the next day.

Nice. Your truck looks great. Are those the gold or brushed copper wheel?

Yeah I've already put some nets under the bed and I'm definitely going to cut down on some camping gear. I used to have a trailer with my rtt so I carried more crap than I needed.
