I went to the dealership a few weeks ago planning on asking about the rear spring TSB so I printed out the pdf I found on this forum and took it with me. I started out telling the girl that takes your info when you pull up that I experienced a rough ride when I helped my in-laws move the previous week. I did help them move but didn’t load enough to bottom out but I'm not going to pass up having this done. So she gets her service manager and I explain the same thing to him and said I did some research and found a Toyota TSB for this problem. He knew all about it but he seemed a little put off that I had found out about it. He said "I don't know how this stuff gets out on the internet but I wish it didn't." He then asked if I had one of the TRD packages. I don't, just SR5. To my surprise he says, "On the SR5 we replace the rear leaf springs and all for shocks with TRD shocks and do and alignment." I wasn't going to correct him on this even though the first page of the TSB says the 2009 and 2010 non-TRDs have updated shocks. He says they will order the parts and let me know when they come in. The following Saturday I come back expecting a 5 hours service so I drop the truck off and ask them to call me when it's done. So I get a call about 3 hours later and they say everything is done. I asked if the springs, shocks, and alignment were done. They said everything was done. So I come back and the second thing I look at are my shocks, same ones that came on the truck. Not that big of a deal, guess they actually read their own TSB. Then I go to get in and leave and I notice that my all weather mats in the front have been replaced by some flat cheap ones. I go back inside and ask one of the girls to come outside and look at something. I show her the mats and asked where mine are. She said they are required by law to destroy the all weather mats and replace them. I say as politely as possible, “I'm going to need the mats I payed for back." So we go inside and she gets one of the managers. This was the same manager I talked to the previous week. First thing I ask is if they decided not to replace my shocks. He says "No, the shocks on your model have been updated." I say OK but I'm going to need my mats back. He gives me the same line the girl did. I asked if there is some sort of waiver I can sign because I don't think these mats are a problem. As he is telling me no, another guy in the office says there is. So they print out the waver, I sign it, and the girl comes back with my mats. She says "You're lucky, they usually destroy these when the pull them out." The guy that said I could sign a waiver chimes in and says "We are supposed to wait 24 hours before we destroy them in case they want them back." I then suggest to everyone in the office that they may want to give people the option to keep the mats they chose before replacing them. I put my mats back in and leave. Just a heads up to watch what the dealership does. Truck rides great and sits higher in the back. Has anyone experienced noise coming from the rear when going over bumps after having this done?

Mine is going in tomorrow for the TSB. They didn't mention the mat issue to me, but there will be hell to pay if they try and remove my mats without giving me any notice. Thanks for the heads up.

They replace them with flat rubber ones. I do not consider them all weather. If I had not said anything when I got my truck back, they would have never said anything to me about it.

OP, if you have noise now back there then take it back and make them finish fixing it. Your Ubolts may not be tight or something else critical like that.

TSB's are done during the bumper to bumper warranty period of 3 years or 36,000 miles so I doubt you would get it done but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I'd go ballistic if they threw my mats away without telling. I have the Weathertechs and I will kick someones ass if they go missing. I'm getting my springs done tomorrow. Maybe I'll zip screw 'em to the floor :)

This is why I've been saying to remove your mats BEFORE you go in!

Man, wish I would have read this thread like an hour earlier. I just got back form dropping my truck off to get the leaf spring TSB done and I have the Husky floor liners. But my dealership has treated me very well so far, so I don't expect them to be pulling this crap on me. I guess I will find out later this evening.

the mats the have "problems" with are only the all weather ones....people with carpet mats or liners have nothing to worry about...

I had a new '05, complained about the bottoming out rear with any rear seat passengers or cargo in the bed... nothing... I finally had Off Road Warehouse install Ride Rite Air Springs (Bags) and Bilstein 5100's in back and problem was solved... $800 for it all, parts and labor.

When I traded it from my '10, I insisted I get my air bags off the truck(they had to remove) so I could install them on the new one, if needed. I have them, but the '10 has improved springs, and no bottoming out... I learned about the TSB after getting my '10, here on TW!

I have the Ride Rites in a box, in the garage...

You guys seem to have shitty dealerships. The dealership I bought my truck from has been great. I had to haul about 600 pounds of batteries up a mountian, the truck was riding very poorly it made it but struggled. Once I got to the top I called the dealership and told the service manager about my percieved issue with the truck he intern volunteered that there was a TSB I may be eligable for just bring it in. I have a base 4X4 and it was in fact covered under thier campaign to modify. They ordered the springs called me a couple days later said that they were in and to come on in and they would put the components on. They called me 3 hours after I dropped the truck off and said it was done come and get it. The tech drove my truck up and said my Weathertechs were in the back seat, the service manager went over to the truck and proceeded to put down the Weathertechs and noticed that I did not have the retention hooks and said to hold on a minute, came back with some hooks put them down then put the floormats in. It pains me to hear all of these complaints, I am thankful I have been so lucky.

Just picked up my baby and I was scared when I first opened the door and noticed there was just a white paper matt on my floor board. But I looked in the back seat and saw it laying back there. Really glad I have a good toyota dealership right here in town.
