I've been around long enough to remember lake Erie being declared "dead" (as in nothing could live in it) a river catching on fire (there is even a beer named after it) air so bad you could taste it and seeing road ditches so full of trash you couldn't walk down them without stepping on it. I for one think it is commendable to consider the environment in all your purchases.
Every vehicle made today is way way easier on the environment then they used to be. Not only are they more fuel efficient but will outlast the old ones by at least 2 times.
The good ol days weren't all that good.

Never thought I'd say this but that's a badass fridge. However, emissions and fuel economy have proven to be more significant than the environmental cost of production .

Essentially this thread has convinced me that the Ridgeline isn't going to be any more of a responsible buy than a Tacoma, which is what I wanted to hear because I prefer the taco! Thanks all!

Thanks! It makes me feel like I’ve got a Caddy parked in the kitchen.

I’m always skeptical of drawing conclusions when it comes to things so complex and ever-changing as trade and economy. Especially considering who might be funding the study. But of course, I have no way of proving otherwise.

But the Ridgeline gets better mpg? If you want fuel economy, that’s what I’d get.

Probably this TESLA sled, I've seen it with a different body style and it didn't look half bad.

I don’t like sugar. I heart aspartame. You’re speaking words to my heart.
All things are proven then proof debunked over and over and over again.

Just like the old “eggs are good/eggs are now bad” proof. Be careful what you bet on as far as the “truth” is concerned.

Those moldy rooftop tents and salmonella from the Skottle is a deadly combo. It really gets ‘em horny.

Real world mpg is different than on those ratings they give. The smog difference is so beyond negligible that it really makes little to no difference. Honestly the Ridgeline will drive more like a car, it will get more mpg, and it can even haul more weight in the bed than a Tacoma. The only benefits you get with a Tacoma are towing and the ability to go offroad. I could be wrong but it doesn’t sound like you’ll be doing that. That’s my take on it at least.

I Just wish for once that we humans as a whole would consider balance. The single hot button personality at the expense of everything else is not good for us. EVERYTHING has to balance out in our lives or it will on its own. And that usually means disaster. Especially in the US. We do seem to have any sense of balance. Maybe both the dems and republicans ideas in a balanced solution are best. Maybe we should not go from being 350 lbs. to competing in Ironmans. Maybe we can stay on the trail (walkers, mountain bikers, ORVs, trucks, etc.) and have some respect for the rest of humanity and the other trail users. And then have our favorite trail still open. Maybe our friend with the Prius will give us a ride across the state in exchange we help them move since we have a truck.

Just some thoughts to ponder. Everything has a cost.
