complete OME lift, hidden winch and sliders. no full bumpers or skids as of yet. Also keep in mind this is the break-in period so it's not going over 60 mph. I fully expect this number to go down when normal driving resumes. It's still way better than the 14-15 mpg I was seeing on the same drive.

Well I'm sitting at 497 miles since picking it up from having 5.29 put in. Everything seems ok although i've been driving it like a granny but I can tell some major improvement on hill climbs on the highway especially the 287 mile drive home. I will say this, after picking it up there is a noticeable whining sound that seems to be from the rear end area. Curtis said that unfortunately these have been common to do this and that to them on the test drive it seemed much quieter in mine vs the trucks that did not do the REM polishing. It seems to be most common when decelerating and at higher speeds but I also just had all new suspension put on this month so I'm chasing down vibrations and I'm not sure after all the reading ive done the whining noise is my gears or my rear end suspension. Im reading so much conflicting info but its time for my 500 mile oil change. Can anyone tell me what size sockets I need for this job and we do just change the rear diff oil correct?

Gear shop put 85-140w Oriley's Master Pro in mine. Said when I do the 500 mile fluid change to make sure and use a GL-5 milspec rated gear oil.

Most gear manufacturers and differential shops will recommend the heavier oil.

It will protect the gears better and won’t break down as fast as lighter oils.

Technically you should be performing the break in on both diffs and will need to change both oils.

I kind of thought that would make sense I wonder why Ecgs said only rear oil changed?

I can only assume they mentioned only the rear because that’s what you use the bulk of the time. It’s somewhat impractical to run 500 miles in 4x4 for most people. The front diff has to run heat cycles like the rear and perform a break in.

    Yes Sir!

Definitely looking into the re-gear and locker install sooner than later. How did you manage the front gear set break-in?

I was also told the same thing. Front gears pull and don’t push like the rear so technically they don’t have the same kind of stress as rear diff does. I ran mine for a bit in a 4x4 just to put some miles on front as well.

Mine are also REM polished which eliminates that break-in but I just did it on the highway, ran it on the long stretches.
