Time for a new fancy welding helmet.
Does anyone have anything to say about that Esab Sentinel helmet ?
Nowhere near me keeps them in stock, and I don't want to buy one unless I can touch and try it on etc

He's 11. Should have seen his face when he looked in the back seat and a big tree was through the door.

The truck slowly slid into a big branch.

I love the sentinel. Most comfortable hood on the market imo. Light and the grind mode it easy to use with gloves on

I have a love hate relationship with grind mode on my helmet. I’ll use it, and forget to switch it back and then flash myself lol

That’s the main reason I will switch back and forth between my hood and my face shield lol. That and the fact that I will keep my lens on my hood cleaner anf less damaged for longer

Love it!! That’s how it should be!!

I have the Lincoln Viking 3350 and I really like it. Super clear and huge viewing area. 4 sensors I’ve never been flashed.

I use Duvetyne from work. It has fire retardant in it too which helps with the sparks. It has a soft side like velvet and harder side like denim. You can buy the fabric on Amazon or online

I have Yet to ever be able to demo a hood fondle and try on is not quite the same

My collection of Hoods I just did not like was quite Large till I cleaned house

Anything Esab I would stay very far away!! Just me What I see most distributors will only sell there products when good customers whine and beg

The hood might work fine if it uses off the shelf cover plates.

I have warranty machines Sitting it takes months to get parts what sucks is burning up warranty time that they will not adjust

Out of Warranty even longer waits

The thing with Tig welding is prep time.

We tend to say prep 55 minutes for 5 minutes of Arc time .

Mig tends to be quite forgiving when it comes to prep time.

Have you mastered the use of a thumb control .

Using a small Back cap trimming your Tungsten to fit .

Cutting your Tig filler Metal to be able to get both hands into the tight places sometimes required in welding on these Trucks

One thing to Learn sitting at a welding station another game out crawling around a Truck

It seems we have this discussion every now and then.

Let me say in the price range most might be spending these Multi use machines are a big comprise

The only reason Miller and Lincoln Jumped on the band wagon was to compete with the ever so cheap machines from West of the Formosa Straights .

The only thing I can say if your new to the welding game most likely you will be quite happy if it works

Been in the game sometime you notice the short comings quite easy.

Every once in awhile people who work in the offices see the big $$$ savings and swallow the hype the crew in the field suffers
