Aftermarket metal automatic shifter replacement

Has anyone here replaced their original shifter with a metal one. I've driven the old school lexus is300 that had the metal ball shifter and really love the solid feel of it. I also really like the metal one from the fj cruiser. I've seen the trd pro shifter, but I prefer a metal one. Please show pictures of your aftermarket shifters and where you got it from. Thanks

There’s a couple other vendors that make them (and one in particular to stay away from) but Rick’s are some of the nicest.

I put a Skunk2 weighted shift knob in my Civic years ago. I loved it, but had to keep a ball cap over it in the summer because it was burning hot

 

The dude with the galled threads? Or someone else?

 

Does a metal shift knob get that bad in the summer? Is it because the sun is shining directly on it or just due to the overall interior heat?

 

The company of issue is Anarchy Motiv, a member paid for a knob and has been waiting almost a year, I told him to get his money back.

Heat is enough to do it, but the sun will make it worse. Ever touch your seatbelt buckle in the summer?

Wow that looks perfect! Is that black material rubber or plastic and how much did that cost? Does that shifter feel good in the hand?

 

Its stainless steel and a delrin ring. It wasn't cheap but it's awesome. So heavy and solid and high quality. Even in my automatic it was a night and day difference in feel it's awesome. Couldn't even imagine on a manual. Check out the thread on them posted above for info and pricing and ordering

What does delrin feel like? I'm not familiar with that material.

 

I wasn't either until I ordered it but wasn't disappointed. It's technically a plastic but feels better than you'd think. He makes them all custom though so you can get it solid Stainless steel or Aluminum or I think he even may have another metal that's even heavier. PM him!
