That's what California is planning , all electric vehicles by 2045 but I dont think that'll happen . It's about as feasible as the great bullet train fiasco . But as I mentioned the charging station are way behind in development and placement . Also with electric cars now you've got to plan your route to make sure there's a charging station near your route . Also the mileage between charges now is less than 200 miles and as you drive the battery loses charge the power of the vehicle slow down

Another is the time to charge these cars is ridiculous at a minimum of 6-8 hours . This makes cross country travel ridiculously long

    Good morning friends.

I see quite a few Tesla's up here. They have a few hyper charging stations around in CT alone that'll charge in 30 minutes if I remember. That's all fine and dandy between Boston and DC. But what if you want to visit Mt. Rushmore or... Maybe... Grand Canyon??? Need to pull a genset with you along with fuel as a reactor isn't light enough (yet)...

    Morning.
Weather really screwed me up yesterday.
With cold, moisture, barometric pressure flopping, my leg felt it was being ripped off my body.
Haven’t felt that way in years.
Well when a piece of titanium and plastic works like it’s suppose to 98% of the time
you have to suffer a little. Lot better than being in pain all the time and in a wheelchair.
The body builds a tolerance to pain over time but when that pain goes away and you get back to normal
And then that pain comes back all at once IT SUCKS.....
    Raining now.
Got the lawn tractor switched over to grass yesterday too.

If it stops raining I’ll pick up the front yard and roll the lawn.
    Might pickle the generator...
    So much to do.
Turkey’s strutting in the back yard yesterday. One month to go before season starts.

Outdoor project this year is replacing some stair railings and maybe replace the bottom
Post. It always had a curve in when it was built. Not super solid either. So I might remove it
And add a hole and fill it with cement and put the new post in it with a pin..

I think the boat move could be next week.

I need some outdoor me time...
    Time to crank it up...

    Be safe all.

    Every vehicle electric?
    Never happen.
The power plants and grid they would need to build will be astronomical.
A charge cord will need to be accessable to every vehicle in every parking spot.
Charging station goes down. Figure 10% will be broken. That poor person that needs a charge and that unit is down. Can’t tell if it works until you plug in.
Plus disposing of old battery components. Oil will still need to be mined in great quantity.
    Electric way more expensive.

    More public transportation.
Big big rise in personal vehicle cost and maintenance making it impossible for normal people to have one. So forcing people to give up personal transport. Get out the rickshaws and bicycles.

    Or

    Star Trek transporters...

    Morning all

Even if we go from gas to electric or hydrogen or water from fukishima, we still need oil for every piece of plastic in the car. We are far from going away from oil dependency. Just from burning as much.

I see the high torque motor destroying the axle offroad, not sure what you would do then.

Powerlines and trees equals bad. Wind blowing, a piece of rope, John Deere, tree pruner, equals a good thing.

Shot skeet yesterday morning was 28° with 40+ mph winds. Was cold. Not fun after about 5 minutes. But I was outside. 18° this morning and not going to be outside a lot. Snow around the Polaris Ranger has melted enough I can get to it and need to clean it out. And there is all that dog poop that is showing up as the snow is melting. Should get to what is showing while it is hard yet. But don't feel like walking in the snow anymore...

There are 3 grades of beef in the US, fat content and marbling are the criteria. Select is at the bottom and Prime grade at the top. Doesn't matter where they are from and personally not a fan of grass fed as much as good breeding lines with consistency and grain and corn fed.

I normally only purchase Prime grade. Isn't always easy to find but worth the effort, it is the best tasting. It is expensive but worth it. To me anyhow.

Prime is the highest grade in the US however at the Prime grade is also American Wagyu. It is from Japanese cows that were imported starting in the 70's and spread across the US since then.

A5 Wagyu is the highest grade even Costco sells it

The BMS is beef marbling score and there are sub grades among the A grading scale. BMS #12 in A5 grade is the highest. And most expensive. But my birthday is coming up in a couple of months...

Rumor has it that #12 A5 is from cows that drink beer and are massaged with Sake.

Exactly. Coming from the East once you hit Mn. on I-90 headed to Mt. Rushmore you start seeing a lot of signs saying next exit is XX miles. If your down to a quarter of tank of gas you better stop and fill up. Northern Mn. where I hunt and play doesn't have a lot of gas stations and there are a few places that had pumps put in but you have to know where they are. And they charge twice as much as places "in town" with town usually being a couple hundred people. Even gas can be hard to get in some places. I can't imagine charging stations out here when gas stations are scarce as it is. And when I travel there are only 2 reasons to stop. Let the dog out to pee and refuel and if refueling takes 30 minutes I will be pissed.

It does suck Mike. I have found with all my joints hurting only one can really scream out the loudest at a time. It can shift around from one to the other and the others kind of back off and become more an ache than pure pain. The spine seems to trump them all and I try to tell it just shut the phuck up.

This winter was the worst and I have talked to several people that said going to Az. or Fl. for the winter did wonders for the pain. That may be the driving factor that makes me go next year. Getting tired of trying to embrace the suck, thinking kicking it in the balls is a better plan. Then again leaving my house empty for a couple of months in the winter scares me. Would have to pay someone to take care of it and clear the drive. If you don't clear the drive and steps might as well put a sign out front and say no one home come help your self to my shit. And if a water pipe freezes and bursts I can't imagine the damage that would happen by the time I got back.

I think solar would be even more advanced if someone could figure out how to harness the market and make more money at it by screwing the consumer. Who ever can figure out the smallest, longest lasting, fastest charging battery is going to be the one who takes a large part of the control.

Boy these small motors run so much better on true fuel. Swapping out the ethanol for storage.

We're going with Choice today. Marbling is there but certainly not abundant. Will have to be patient and let them rest.

Talking with visitors and locals, this was a rare winter even for here. With the amount of rain we got and the extended cold period, some of the folks from up north were unhappy (till you point out how cold it was up north). I think life is going to suck here for a bit with the pollen. Last year I took out a bunch of salt cedar and now there's a huge amount of yellow flowers in the weeds that took over where the salt cedar was. Just have to grunt (or sneeze) through it till it dies off.
