    Saw one lone tom yesterday and today. Hes got a blue head so Im guessing hes about a two year old. They havent been around but I heard him or at least I assume it was him, gobbling couple days ago.

    Head color is indicative of mood, not age. Their heads change color depending on their mood.

    Ive seen the jakes looking like hens then the older ones have the blue or almost white head gobbling.:notsure:seems the more mature ones were blue to me..

    Yes, mature gobblers have more testosterone which effects head color changes with mood swings. So, I guess that grey/blue-ish heads could be younger turkeys...or calm adults. When mature gobblers get really excited, the top of their head will turn bright white.

    I wished it was open today...saw 2 down the hill and one in my driveway, and heard some more around. Saw one hen by the feeder, all in a matter of an hour. They shut up here at about 830am

    Never hunted FM but there's probably a ton of turkeys in there. Berkeley County ranks like 2nd in SC for total turkeys harvested.

    There are a lot of turkeys there, but even more people. I called one into 25yrds this morning out there, but I let him go because I could not tell how good he was. I did not want to turn over a dead turkey to find 3/4" spurs. I hunt public land 99% of the time.
