Can you guys direct me to recovery help?
I can’t find it on my phone.
I have a single cab auto 4 cylinder and the drivers side is not engaging/spinning.

I’m trying to recover another Tacoma and the strap is taught so I can’t go forward.
    Thanks!

Dig out each of his wheels first with a shovel so that he has some traction. Then back up a few inches and go again

Maybe let some air out too now that he looks like he is in mud?

Some closer pics would be good!

Sounds like 4x4 is acting normal on open differentials. Good luck and like suggested before, dig out best you can so there's the least resistance. Letting air out of your tires will help too, down to 15-18 psi

We can dig more and let out air, but like I said,
    Front wheel is not engaging

Try to back up so there’s some slack and get a slow running start for a better snatch out of the hole. Your front tires have unequal traction and the open diff is allowing the side with less traction to spin when trying to pull against a taut strap.

Because you have an open diff, it's normal

Count of one four legged freeloader
Dig him out a lot first.

Both trucks wheels pointing straight ahead and trucks in a line.

If there is a hard surface just a couple inches below the snow do not air down tires - if it’s all soft then do air down.

Take the weight out of the other truck and put it in yours.

Both wheels won’t turn when in 4hi or just one side is spinning? If one is spinning that’s a characteristic of open diffs. Try putting traction boards/rocks/brush/floor mats/etc under the tires to provide traction.
