OK it seemed to me like the place to do it would be shortly before the TB where the charge pipe runs parallel to the timing cover, right in front there. This allows a decent straight distance before and after to help with turbulence over the sensor. Another thing that will be a factor though is compressor bypass valve positioning and weather or not to recirc. I always recirc on a MAF based vehicle to avoid dumping air that has already been metered, and to prevent un-metered air from entering the system. Just havent figured out exactly how Im going to route things just yet.

Wastegate will be a Tial F-38 routed back into the downpipe downstream. I just cant do atmosphere dump anymore......I gave that up years ago. Obnoxious if you ask me. I prefer the smooth sound of a spooling turbo over the note of a proper exhaust rather than a gaping hole in my manifold these days.

There are some awesome build threads in here, and you guys have done some really cool things with these trucks. I cant believe how many pages some of the build threads have- Ive been getting sucked into some of the 300+ page ones over the last couple nights. Very cool stuff.

Had never noticed the rear mounted turbo kits out there before-never really looked though I guess....... what an odd way to do things........just out of curiosity is anyone still doing that or is that out?

Post turbo, with a flow straightener. BOV ~6-8" pre-MAF.

You don't have to have a recirculation valve and tubing.

rear mounts are ok if you have space issues but itd be my last resort and i probably wouldnt do it at all tbh
hmm interesting. although a recirc will mean faster boost during shifts.

:bananadead: also I'm trying to track down a half dozen codes I hope are just exhaust leaks cuz according to a half can of starter fluid all in the engine bay, vacuum leaks are near zero

Did find 1 pretty loose exhaust manifold nut on the passenger side... Would a leak there effect the mix on bank 2 (opposite side)? Anyway cleared these codes, still leans out under any any acceleration greater than 76 year old grandma... But I'm gonna double check my fuel tables and make sure there isnt a janky grid or two in there (laptop is charging)

Not sure what software your using but unless somebody went in there and messed with it, tables should be right where they where before the problem presented itself.

Are your O2 sensors good? A large exhaust leak near an o2 sensor, or even away from one could cause this, but it would have to be a considerable leak.

Brand new o2 sensor cuz I threw this code last year and swapped out the sensor then. I dunno how big of a leak that was but the one nut was a whole turn or more loose. I wound up pulling a bit of fuel in the rpms and vacuum that my truck hits at start up because it always goes super rich there and I added a little across the rest as vacuum decreases. It was reading a ltft of -26 when I got over 2k rpm under acceleration and now that's only like -18... I know that should mean that its running rich but it leaned my afrs all the way out and when I add fuel it got better so who the heck know... @Torspd my wife is coming to Texas in may, I told her to bring you back and we could get my truck fixed and id drive you back home...

Are you sure your after market wideband display on the gauge face is giving you accurate data?

Put 200 rough dirt miles on the truck. Ended up putting a hole in my ac line from the wastegate nipple. Everything else seemed to do well. Got into boost in 1st low getting up a ledge and it surprised me a bit. It's going to take some getting used to, hopefully not at the expense of axles...

At about 4.7psi I have just a tad more power than a 3.4 with a similar weight as my truck at 5000ft. The higher we go up the faster I pull on him. I'm pretty happy with that for the time being.

Anyone with first gens read lower than 12.06 afr on the stock sensor? I'm seeing 11.5 on the wideband I added. Curious if I'm just seeing that much of a difference between the two or if 12.06 is where the stock sensor bottoms out.

I would go by what the added wideband says as whats actual.

Not sure about the stock sensors range but a fair question. I will watch mine and let you know.

I trust what the added one says more but unfortunately I can't data log with that one. For the most part they are relatively close to one another until it gets below 13.0 and they begin to separate from each other.
