guessing this is a sound sensor for the alarm!? Can’t find anything in the Owners manual....

Correct. When you set your alarm you arm your vehicle with perimeter alarm which means when if someone opens your door, your car horn will sound. This sensor is designed to detect the sound of a window breaking before the bad guy opens your taco door.
