I bet, I know the feeling!

Just been working on unfinished tooling projects that got put on hold when I had surgery a couple of years ago. Almost done, then I can get back to making titanium gadgets.

Oh, what's up with that shifter part you asked me about, did you still need one made? I wasn't gonna charge you for it, just shipping cost & material if I have to buy.

Just finished a centering tool for my rotary table.

Titanium huh, does that machine well?

I'm about a couple days worth of work from being able to tell if I'll need that part haha. I appreciate the offer, I'll definitely let you know when I know.

What was the surgery for? All good now?

Yeah well, whatever it was a 14 yr old mistake that I've explained before..... :frusty:

I was a street racer & mechanic that got into way too much trouble. Wanted to get out of Hondas so I wanted to buy something that I couldn't spend money one. A Toyota truck was perfect, so I thought. All my friends talked me out of buying a 4x4 cause a Prerunner was cheaper, cheaper to maintain, cheaper insurance. That was in 2004, $20k OTD with 28K mi, it was all I could afford too.

Then I found a forum called CustomTacos & it was over. Wanted to just get a spacer lift then the guys there talked me into getting Donahoes & Deavers. Said I was going to rgret gojng to the desert with them with a spacer lift. Then they said I needed LT. I didn't get that far. This truck was supposed to stay stock & not spend money on. Well it least it kept me out of trouble. :)

brother, no need to tell the story again - i can completely RELATE, hence the :boink:

I have spent way more money than I should on this truck but... original owner and I love this thing. Almost at the point now if I don't convert it I'm going to end up needing to buy another. I can still take comfort in knowing that I have the locker (lol) - at least there is that I guess.

Not easy. I did a lot of cussing & breaking tools when I first tried machining it. Even caught my lathe on fire too (small fire, just some paint damage). Drilling it is the worst. Should run flood coolant but I donxt want that kind of mess in my garage. I'm no pro but I've learned to work with it for the most part.

I certainly don't need to make stuff out of Ti but thatxs what people like & I have a good collection of it now. It sure does look purdy, in machined finish & anodized.
